QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT ESK JOCKEY CLUBSATURDAY 19th MARCH 2022 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Good 4 RAIL – True OFFICIALS Stewards: K Daly (Chairman), C SimpsonClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – P ChiltonVeterinarian – Dr O Dziaduch, C BartelsStarter – D Hodgson Race 1 – Maiden Plate 800 METRES BILLIRUBIN – Began awkwardly and lost ground. DAULAT ULTI MAIORA – Slow to begin. HE DID IT – Raced wide throughout. Lost near fore plate in running. HISCRACE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. ADELAIDE MOMENT – Steadied near the 400m when crowded for room by DAULAT ULTI MAIORA which shifted in. B Newport, rider of DAULAT ULTI MAIORA, was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. THE DEVASTOR – Laid out from the 600m and as a result made the home turn awkwardly. GREY INFERNO – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground. Raced wide throughout. Race 2 – Benchmark 60 Hdcp 800 METRES Correct weight was delayed allowing Stewards to view the start of the event after K Yoshida, rider of AQUA LADY, was dislodged st the start was effected. After taking evidence from starter Mr D Hodgson, rider K Yoshida and viewing the patrol footage, Stewards found AQUA LADY reared as the start was effected resulting in K Yoshida being dislodged and as such the horse was declared a runner. Trainer A Park was advised AQUA LADY must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start. K Yoshida was examined by QAS staff and cleared of any injury. REMEMBER MARY – Raced wide throughout. SERTIN – Shifted in abruptly passing the 100m resulting rider S Stephan becoming awkward in the saddle for a short distance. ZENIA – Slow to begin. Race 3 – BENCHMARK 50 Hdcp 1200 METRES BOOMI’S BUDDY – The saddle on the horse was adjusted on arrival at the barriers. Fractious after being loaded into the barriers. Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide with cover throughout. ZEELUCK – Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event. MORGAN’S SMILE – Bumped with SCARE CAMPAIGN at the start. PARLOUR – Crowded when steadied to avoid the heels of ESPANYOL near the 1100m which shifted in when not fully clear. B Newport, rider of ESPANYOL, was reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a). Near 150m obliged to shift out across the heels of VERY SOON to obtain clear running PRINCE OF MOROCCO – Slow to begin. TRUE TALLY – Raced wide throughout the event. SCARE CAMPAIGN – Bumped with MORGAN’S SMILE at the start. Race 4 – Maiden Plate 1460 METRES SPRIGGER – From the wide barrier was restrained shortly after the start to a rearward position closer to the rails. Steadied when crowded for room between A DEEL OF HUMOUR and YIA MAS which was taken in by KIZMET MAGIK. B Newport, rider of KIZMET MAGIK, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstance. YIA MAS – Rounding the home turn rider E MacPherson momentarily lost use of the offside rein resulting in the horse making the home turn wider on the track. EYE OF RA – Held up for clear running between the 400m and 200m. KIZMET MAGIK – Raced wide for the majority of the event. MARCIA AURELIA – Slow to begin. When asked to comment on the performance rider N Evans stated the horse travelled fairly in the run however when placed under pressure in the home straight was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. FLAMIN’ READY – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Made the home turn awkwardly and lost ground. Race 5 – Benchmark 55 Hdcp 1750 METRES The start of this event was re-scheduled 10 minutes later to 4:00pm to avoid a clash with a Sydney feature thoroughbred event. YES NO MAYBE SO – When asked to comment on the below market performance trainer K Afford was of the opinion the horse did not back up from its most recent start on the Bundaberg sand track on 12th March 2022. Stewards noted the explanation. CAPTAIN RIDDLE – Raced three wide for the majority of the event. Made the home turn awkwardly.
