GENERAL

Jockey R Payne was reprimanded under the provisions of AR190(3) for accepting rides when overweight. Given the circumstances Stewards permitted Jockey Payne to retain her rides with the following overweights allowed:

Race 1- Jockey R Payne +1kg
Race 2- Jockey R Payne +0.5kg

Race 1: KOTZUR BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1000m

AVISION- Fractious in the race day tie-ups when attempting to fit the tongue tie which consequently was unable to be fitted. As such Stewards permitted the gelding to race without that piece of gear. Laid in passing the 50m becoming awkwardly placed on heels.

MISS PIXIE- Due to a clerical and administrative error may have been displayed as not wearing blinkers in some form guides. This was incorrect and the mare raced in blinkers. Raced wide for the majority.

THE LOUT- Slow into stride.

POINT THE WAGON- Obliged to restrain when crowded passing the 400m.

MISS CRUISEY- Obliged to steady and shift in crowding POINT THE WAGON when a runner to the outside shifted in passing the 400m. Inclined to lay out under pressure down the running.

THE LOUT- Laid in passing the 400m crowding MISS CRUISEY which was obliged to steady and shift in crowding POINT THE WAGON. Jockey B Andrew was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.

Race 2: CONDABRI BEEF AND DRURY FARMING BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000m

CAMARILLO- Blundered on jumping.

KINGSTAR AMBER- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.

LEARNING CURVE- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.

Race 3: PATON’S TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200m

SADDLE UP PRIDE- Fractious in barrier. Under pressure from the 500m. Jockey P Randall was caution in relation to his use of the whip on a beaten runner. After the event Jockey Randall advised that he was suffering mild pain in his right shoulder due to the horse’s actions in the barrier.

ZARAGIGI- Began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly on jumping losing ground. Raced wide for the majority.

Race 4: KERWICK’S EARTHWORKS FLINTON CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1200m

BRYNEICH- Began awkwardly and bumped on jumping. Eased momentarily passing 1000m and raced wide from that point.

THE TENOR- Bumped on jumping

MOSCINI- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.

Race 5: CRAIG’S WELDING AND TYRE SERVICE BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200m

SAY GOODBYE- Began awkwardly, shifted out and hampered SEA ECHO on jumping.

SEA ECHO- Began awkwardly before being hampered on jumping.

PERSIAN KING- Raced wide for the majority.

Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to view the patrol footage of the start to ensure all runners were afforded a fair start. After viewing the footage it was determined that SEA ECHO had its head turner to the off-side when the start was effected and consequently began awkwardly before being hampered by SAY GOODBYE and losing ground. As Stewards were satisfied SEA ECHO was afforded a fair start and it was it mannerisms in the barrier that resulted in it beginning awkwardly and being slow away correct weight was declared on the Judges numbers.
