SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

From Eidsvold 7/10/2023.

Stewards reminded Trainer C Geran and Stablehand C Creevey of their responsibilities pursuant to rule AR 137(1)(d), in that consuming alcohol whilst handling a horse may cause them to register a reading, when tested, being in excess of the level stipulated in this rule after they were observed with drinks containing alcohol in the tie up area.

GENERAL

Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting –
Race 3: DOLLOP – T Banks +1kg = 56kg
Race 4: BARTALUMBA – C Taylor +1kg = 56kg

Race 1: BURNETT AG SUPPLIES BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1000 Metres

NO BETTER AFFAIRE – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

AFROGINASOCK – Slow to begin. Slow to muster early speed. Raced wide without cover throughout the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice L O`Donnell reported that the outside gate failed to lock open and sprung back marginally after opening, which may have been a contributing factor in the gelding being slow to begin. Stewards reviewed footage of the start and asked the starter to check the gates before the start of the next race.

ULTRA INSTINCT – When asked to comment, Apprentice C Krahnen reported that she was satisfied with the mares first up performance and added that ULTRA INSTINCT would benefit from the run.

CAMAROSA – A post-race Veterinary inspection revealed the gelding to be displaying a poor recovery and signs of heat stress.

ANNAKURI – Shifted out on the home turn.

ZENIA – Taken wider on the home turn when ANNAKURI shifted out.

Trainer T Thomas pleaded not guilty to a charge pursuant to AR106(1) in that he presented ONYABIKE CHARLIE with an incorrect saddlecloth number. After considering all of the evidence which was put forward and submissions from Mr Thomas, Stewards found that the charge laid against Mr Thomas could be sustained. When considering penalty Stewards took into account Mr Thomas` good record and a fine of $100 was imposed for the incident.
