SUPPLEMENTARY
 
From Gold Coast Turf Club Meeting Wednesday 5/10/2016 – Race 5
 
Trainer T. Gollan reported that a veterinary examination of GIULIANI failed to reveal any abnormalities and Mr Gollan advised that the gelding would be sent for a short freshen up before resuming its current campaign. 
 
From Gold Coast Turf Club Meeting Saturday 8/10/2016 – Race 2
 
Trainer L. Birchley advised that a veterinary examination of DEEP HARBOUR had failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Mr Birchley reported that the horse had worked well in the week subsequent to its disappointing performance and as such would continue with its current campaign subject to a further examination by the stable’s chiropractor.
 
GENERAL
 
In Races 4 and 5 App J. Woodhouse was unable to claim down to his riding weight and as a consequence only claimed a ½ kilo in Race 4 (FLINTOFF) and in Race 5 only claimed 2 ½ kilos on HIGH DEGREE.  As no other suitable apprentices were available App Woodhouse was permitted to fulfil his engagements however was fined $300.00.
 
RACE 1: Attwood Marshall Lawyers Class 4 H’Cap - 1400M
 
LITTLE WEALTH – Blundered on jumping away and lost ground.
MARLENE ADELE – Overraced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover.  Jockey M. Hellyer reported that the mare hung out under pressure in the straight placing him at a disadvantage.
 
LORD LONHRO – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.  A post race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
GOLD FOR KEV – Approaching the 400m was bumped by FAICONI and taken wider.  Passing the 200m was momentarily hampered by FAICONI which shifted out.
 
FAICONI – Approaching the 400m shifted out to improve and bumped GOLD FOR KEV.
 
 
RACE 2: Attwood Marshall Lawyers Maiden Plate - 900M
 
DON’T PLAY AROUND – App M. Murphy only claimed 1 kilo of his 2 kilo allowance after his riding weight was increased to 52 kilos during the week.
 
MONTY ZOOMS – Raced without the previously advertised near side blinker and near side bubble cheeker.  Public announcements were made to this effect.  Trainer D. McColm was fined $100.00.  Blundered shortly after the start and lost ground. Near the 450m when inclined to lay out made heavy contact with the hind quarters of SHINSHIN.
 
SHINSHIN – Slow to begin.  Near the 450m became unbalanced for a short distance after being bumped by MONTY ZOOMS.
 
STILL WAITING – Near the 600m shifted in and bumped BUSH BELLA. Raced wide throughout.
 
MISS COLOMBIA – Near the 600m had to be steadied after being bumped by BUSH BELLA.
 
REMLAPS JOY – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
ELDRICK – Raced 4 wide without cover throughout.
 
GOOD GRACIOUS MAE – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
RACE 3: Attwood Marshall Lawyers BenchMark 70 H’Cap - 1800M
 
ROYALTOWN ROAD – Slow to begin.  Rounding the first turn near the 1500m was steadied when placed in restricted room between LILLOOET and TANGARA.
 
TANGARA – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
RICH REWARD – Jockey M. Hellyer reported that the mare felt short in its action over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination of the mare revealed no significant findings.
 
 
 
RACE 4: Revelstone Stud Maiden Plate - 1400M
 
App J. Guthmann-Chester (BENFICA PRINCESS) was fined $100.00 for only claiming 2 of his 3 kilos.
 
MATCH DAY – Stood flatfooted as the start was effected and lost ground.  Trainer B. Mahon was advised that a further barrier certificate will be required prior to its next start.
 
EASTERN PARADISE – Began awkwardly.
 
WACK’EM – Overraced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover and near the 900m had to be checked from the heels of EASTERN PARADISE.  Held up rounding the home turn.
 
BENFICA PRINCESS – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
App M. Murphy (TIZABEE) was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts right out to the end of the race.
 
MAD MAGIC – It was reported that the gelding was suffering from the thumps following the race.
 
RACE 5: Attwood Marshall Lawyers Class 2 H’Cap - 1100M
 
A protest was lodged by J. Morris the rider of 2nd placegetter JETASAN against JACK LANCASTER (B.  Pengelly) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference over the final 50m.  After viewing the patrol footage and considering all the evidence stewards found that JACK LANCASTER shifted in marginally over the concluding stages, making only light contact with JETASAN.  Bearing in mind the insignificant nature of the interference stewards dismissed the objection.
 
HIGH DEGREE – Began awkwardly, shifted out and lost ground.
 
JERALY – Had to be steadied at the start when tightened for room.  Raced 3 wide without cover from the 700m.
 
JETASAN – Overraced in the early and middle stages.  Upon straightening shifted out to improve and bumped JACK LANCASTER
 
CHRICHTON – Overraced in the middle stages and near the 700m was bumped by JACK LANCASTER.
 
JACK LANCASTER – Upon straightening was bumped by JETASAN on a number of occasions.
 
RACE 6: Attwood Marshall Lawyers Fillies & Mares Class 1 Plate - 1300M
 
CALL US PRIMI – Connections advised the mare would be ridden in a more forward position today if circumstances permit.  The horse was ridden accordingly.  Jockey M. McGuren dropped his whip upon straightening.
 
BYE BABY – Began awkwardly.
O’SPACEHELLO – Bumped at the start.
 
ROSADOR – Bumped at the start.
 
MORE THAN A ROSE – Slow to begin.  Held up rounding the home turn.
 
RAKITNO – When caught wide in the early stages was allowed to stride forward to the lead.  Jockey G. Goold dropped his whip near the 250m.
 
EMPRESS ZHAO – Near the 50m had to be steadied when placed in restricted room between runners.
 
SEND US A SIGN – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.  App M.  Murphy reported that the filly hung out from the 600m.
 
COONOWRIN RUBY – Jockey M. Hellyer reported that the mare hung out throughout and proved difficult to ride.  A warning will be placed on the mare’s racing manners.
 
RACE 7: Attwood Marshall Lawyers Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 1 Plate - 1300M  
 
OLD TEX – Bumped shortly after the start.  Overraced in the early stages.
 
LIGHTHOUSE KEEPER – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
REVERSE LOGIC – Overraced in the early stages.
 
LAREBIL – Held up for a short distance upon straightening.
 
RACE 8: RACELANDIA BenchMark 75 H’Cap - 1200M 
 
Stewards permitted App N. Masuda to replace App M. Shimodaira as the rider of BRIGADOON LEGEND due to App Shimodaira having riding engagements in Toowoomba.
 
BUDGET BENDER – Began awkwardly.
 
NAKANAI – Slow to begin.  Raced 4 wide without cover throughout.
 
THOMAS THE TANK – Overraced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover however, due to its racing manners was unable to do so and as a consequence raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
AMATA – Near the 700m was bumped by NAKANAI and became unbalanced. Raced wide throughout.
 
BRIGADOON LEGEND – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
ALI MOUNTAIN – Bled from both nostrils and was eased out of the event in the home straight.  The gelding will now incur a mandatory 3 month ban and must gallop a 1000m to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again.
