RACE 1: GOOD MORNING GOLD COAST Class 3 Plate – 1800m
1st: Hi Harry 2nd: Davor 3rd: Lefkas Island 4th: Rocket on Board
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow the 3rd placegetter, Jockey M McGuren (LEFKAS ISLAND) and connections, to view the footage to determine whether they had grounds to lodge an objection against the winner, HI HARRY (Jockey L Rolls). After doing so, they declined to proceed.
 
LEFKAS ISLAND - Slow to begin. Over the final 50m, crowded for room and had to be checked approaching the winning post when HI HARRY shifted in. At a subsequent inquiry Jockey L Rolls (HI HARRY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) for allowing his mount to shift in under riding passing the 50m when not sufficiently clear of LEFKAS ISLAND (M McGuren) who had to check his mount and lost ground at that point. Jockey L Rolls was suspended from riding in races for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 8.11.17 and to expire midnight 16.11.17.
 
 
RACE 2: 1029 HOT TOMATO BenchMark 65 Handicap – 1400m
1st: Sheza Lily 2nd: Driving Wheels 3rd: Teo Torriate 4th: Raggle Varr
 
DRIVING WHEELS - Began awkwardly.
 
SHEZA LILY - Over-raced during the early stages.
 
TEO TORRIATE - Over-raced during the early stages.
 
RAGGLE VARR - Passing the 900m, brushed the running rail of its own accord and became unbalanced.
 
RACE 3: FLAN AND EMILY JADE WITH CHRISTO C,G&E Maiden Handicap – 1400m
1st: Time to Play 2nd: Citrain 3rd: Lolas Diamond 4th: Ponytales
 
ARC LIGHT - Slow to begin and then commenced to over-race and had to be restrained off heels on a number of occasions. Passing the 800m shifted wider on the track to improve and raced 3 wide for the remainder.
 
SOZZLED – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Passing the 1000m when slightly cramped for racing room, had to be steadied away from the heels of MANILA MISS which laid in.
 
TIME TO PLAY – Bumped on jumping away. When questioned regarding the improved performance of the filly, Trainer K Doughty explained that they had expected the filly to perform credibly at its first start however, the filly was disappointing. The filly has since had a spell and has worked well and trialled well leading in to today’s event and she expected a better performance today to coincide with what the filly displays in track work. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
PONYTALES - Began awkwardly and shifted in. Passing the 800m improved onto heels and had to be checked and lost ground. Rounding the home turn momentarily steadied away from heels when LOLAS DIAMOND shifted out.
 
MANILA MISS - Heavily bumped on jumping away. Passing the 1000m had a tendency to lay in and away from PONYTALES and became awkward at the heels of LOLAS DIAMOND and momentarily had to be steadied. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have sustained a laceration to the off hind leg.
 
BRILEE ROSE - Heavily bumped on jumping away. Passing the 800m commenced to over-race and had to be steadied away from heels.
 
TWILIGHT FLYER - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
SHEMAGICSMY WORLD - Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
TRANQUIL BELLE – Stable representative reported post-race that the filly had sustained an injury to its off fore tendon. A veterinary examination of the filly confirmed the injury to its off fore tendon. A veterinary certificate of fitness will be required prior to the fillys next race start.
 
RACE 4: THE RUBY COLLECTION GOLD COAST F&M Class 2 Handicap – 1200m
1st: Fox Force Five 2nd: Felino Bel 3rd: Pegapus 4th: Cloverleigh Lass
 
CUSHION PINK - Slow to begin.
 
PEGAPUS – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
CLOVERLEIGH LASS – After passing the 600m commenced to hang out.
 
EVES JET - Forced wider rounding the home turn by CLOVERLEIGH LASS which was hanging out.
 
Jockey J Morris (FELINO BEL) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137A(5) for excessive use of the whip. Jockey Morris was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 11.11.17 and to expire midnight 18.11.17. When determining penalty, Stewards were mindful of Jockey Morris recent poor record regarding whip breaches.
 
RACE 5: PAY YOUR BILLS Class 4 Handicap – 1300m
1st: Desmons Pride 2nd: We Built This City 3rd: Bobby Be Good 4th: Red Scarlet
 
SNAPPER ROCKS - Blundered on jumping away.
 
WE BUILT THIS CITY - Slow to begin.
 
RACE 6: GALEY, MAL AND MOYRA F&M Maiden Handicap – 1400m
1st: Rotindy 2nd: Ditzy Darci 3rd: Art She Quick 4th: Nice to Dream
 
The start was delayed when DLEEAJET had to be re-saddled and have its bridle re-adjusted which took some time.
 
RED BLANKET – Over-raced during the early stages and passing the 1100m was awkwardly placed at the heels of ISAVERDICT.
 
ART SHE QUICK - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
HEY HEY MY MY - Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
I FOUND SOMEONE - Approaching the 1000m bumped. After passing the 600m placed under pressure but failed to respond and then commenced to weaken and tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off fore leg. A veterinary certificate of fitness will be required prior to the mares next race start.
 
KYLIES KISSES – During the early stages, raced greenly and had to be steadied away from heels and was bumped approaching the 1000m.
 
CONQUERING KATE - After passing the 400m slightly hampered when racing in restricted room between runners.
 
ISAVERDICT - Held up for clear running from 400m until after entering the straight.
 
RACE 7: FLAN AND EMILY JADE WITH CHRISTO C,G&E Maiden Handicap – 1400m
1st: Ramakash 2nd: Solarcraft 3rd: Straight Home 4th: Engraved
 
Prior to the horses leaving the enclosure HAND OF FAITH slipped in the enclosure and was examined by the veterinary surgeon before going on to the track. The gelding was then further examined by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers and cleared to start.
 
MOHAKA RIVER - Fractious prior to the start being effected and reared on a number of occasions.
 
KNIGHTS HONOUR - Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
ROMAKASH - Hampered on jumping away.
 
MAGICIANS SECRET - Hampered on jumping away. Approaching the 400m steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of HAND OF FAITH.
 
PEXBURY AVENUE - Slow to begin and missed the start by a couple of lengths.
 
STRAIGHT HOME - Approaching the 400m was steadied away from heels and shifted out.
 
ENGRAVED - Had to be steadied away from the heels of SAGAJET approaching the 400m.
 
RACE 8: FREE ENTRY DECEMBER 30TH C,G&E Class 2 Handicap – 1200m
1st: Mehmeto 2nd: Attila 3rd: Monaco Playboy 4th: Hearts Honour
 
ATTILA - Fractious in the barriers.
 
RAINBOW SPIRIT – Passing the 200m bumped by HEARTS HONOUR which shifted out to obtain clear running.
