Race 1:  Butler & Sons BM 50 Handicap- 1194 metres
 
MAXWELLS CREEK- Acting on the advice of the vet, Stewards declared the gelding a late scratching at 1.08pm when found to be lame in the near hind. A veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to its next start.
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all bets on MAXWELLS CREEK be refunded and winning bets be paid less the following deductions;
 
EXSTRATUM- 0c Win, 4c place
VICIOUS CHICK- 5c place
BEST HURRAH- 4c place
 
BEST HURRAH- Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
CRAIGLEA ALTISE- Hampered when VICIOUS CHICK was taken in when LOOKSLIKERAIN jumped inwards.
 
EXSTRATUM- App D Graham was reprimanded for use of her whip 1 more occasion than permissible and 4 times consecutively. This was the first offence for App Graham.  
 
Race 2:  Lily Hair QTIS Maiden Plate- 1000 metres
 
DELANCIA- Began awkwardly.
 
SAMUEL JONES- Approximately the 800 metres, become unbalanced and lost ground when DRAGON FIRE lay in and become unbalanced.
 
Race 3: Xport Plumbing Open Handicap- 850 metres

CHARCOAL MELODY- Shortly after the start, knuckled.
 
CONFIDENT STAR- Lay in in the straight.
 
Near the 700 metres, FRAHA lay in and away despite the efforts of the rider and took TIME TO SPARE in onto MONTANUS when had to be checked and lose ground.
 
Race 4: Auslec Class B Handicap- 850 metres  
 
 EXCEL WITH REWARD- When no other riders were available, Jockey A Coome permitted to rider 1/2kg overweight. Jockey Coome was fined $100.
 
MISS RALPHIE- Began awkwardly.
 
THAT PRETTY GIRL- Tightened between MISS RALPHIE and BROOKLYN BOY, when MISS RALPHIE was taken out by NOCK WITH YA ELBOW.
 
SOUL SERENADE- Rider reported his mount was inclined to hang out throughout.
 
NOCK WITH YA ELBOW- From the 600 metres, resented the sand kickback and lost ground.
 
Race 5: Melbourne Cup November 1st BM 55 Handicap- 1517 metres
 
 SHOCKWAVE- Slow to begin. Reported that gelding failed to handle the sand track surface on this occasion. A post-race veterinary inspection did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards would follow-up with the trainer re its performance.
 
MENDELSSOHN- Hampered when FAB’S COWBOY jumped inwards.
 
GREY PARIZ- Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
DUAN DUBAI- Commenced to yield ground from the 600 metres and finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary inspection did not reveal any abnormalities.
