After weighing out for the first race, Stewards noticed and confirmed with Jockey C McIver that he was unfit to fulfil his riding engagements for the day and therefore due to no other riders being available, the following horses were declared late scratchings at 1:20pm:

* Race 2 – BAGGER MUSCLES
* Race 3 – DEBBIE’S DREAM

 
Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reason Jockey C McIver was unfit to fulfil his engagements at today’s meeting.
 
Race 1: Xmas Racing 16th December QTIS Maiden Plate 1000m
 
No deductions were to occur as no bets were laid prior to the scratching time.
 
RACEY CHICK – Declared a late scratching at 11:30am due to no available rider.
 
QUITE THE STUNNER – Slow into stride.
 
DREAM COMMANDER – Slow into stride and failed to show any early speed.
 
CLAPPIN STICK – Rider reported to stewards that the gelding resented the kickback during the race and failed to handle todays racing surface.
 
Race 2: Total Eden Ratings Band 0 – 60 Handicap 1000m
 
Stewards accepted the explanation from Trainer D Schultz for the late declaration of Jockey S Sheargold as rider of THAT PRETTY GIRL.
 
THAT PRETTY GIRL – Jumped in the air at the start and as a consequence was slow into stride and continued to race wide throughout.
 
ELDIYM – Raced wide throughout without cover.

SAN SERVO – Slow to begin and raced wide throughout without cover.
 
OUTBACK WRANGLER – Shifted out at the 700m to avoid the kickback.
 
Race 4: Carlton Mid BenchMark 55 Handicap 1517m
 
BLOOMERANG – Jumped in the air at the start and as a result was slow into stride.
 
HULK HENRY – Slow into stride and raced wide throughout.
 
MISTY MONTANA – Slow into stride.
