QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT GLADSTONE TURF CLUB INC16th APRIL 2022 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Good – Sand RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – C AllisonStewards – D MacklynClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – D Thomsen and D Weinert (Races 1,2,4 and 5)Veterinarian – Dr K ThompsonStarter – R Lisle GENERAL Race 1: GLEN BUTCHER CLASS B HANDICAP 850 metres Due to the photo finish failing to operate the Stewards did not declare correct weight until they were satisfied all horses had been correctly placed by the Judge in accordance with AR214(4). All placings were then duly authorised as per the Judge’s placings. BEGS BELIEF – Laid inwards in the early stages of the home straight. MOONLIT ROSE – Reared on several occasions prior to the start. Reared at the start and failed to muster early speed. A warning was placed on the barrier manners of the filly. LUXOR PRINCE – Raced wide throughout the race. Race 2: KEN O’DOWD MAIDEN PLATE 1000 metres Due to the photo finish failing to operate the Stewards did not declare correct weight until they were satisfied all horses had been correctly placed by the Judge in accordance with AR214(4). All placings were then duly authorised as per the Judge’s placings. NALSSENDORI – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to muster early speed. MISS BENEFITS – Jumped awkwardly. Shifted wider on the track near the 600m. LIVERPOOL GAL – Raced wide through the early stages. Race 3: HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLIVIA AND JOSH QTIS CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1194 metres CLUSTERFEST – Bumped with MANIFICA on jumping. MANIFICA – Bumped with CLUSTERFEST on jumping. Raced wide throughout the race. Made the final bend near the 400m awkwardly shifting wider on the track. Race 4: GREG MCCANN MEMORIAL OPEN SPRINT HANDICAP 1194 metres FAB’S COWBOY – Raced wide shortly after the start and during the middle stages. CRISSCROSS – Slow to begin. Steadied near the 600m when improving onto heels. SIR MAGIC – Stewards accepted trainer B Loakes explanation for the late rider notification of C Small. Race 5: WGH CIVIL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1517 metres FROZE – Raced wide through the early stages. Apprentice rider T Leslight was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(i) for use of the whip on consecutive strides. KILKENNY DAZZLER – Fractious in the barrier prior to the start. Begun awkwardly and was slow into stride. MISTA BUSY – Raced keenly through the early stages. AUSSIE TYCOON – Raced wide early and middle stages.
