Race 1 - BET LUCY - H Richardson Race 2 - LAST LAUGH - W Satherley Race 4 - A CALL FROM HEAVEN - E Molloy Due to jockey M Butler being delayed due to transport difficulties, stewards permitted S Apthorpe as the replacement rider for DESIGNING ARROW in race 1. Race 1: VEOLIA ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES Class B Handicap 850M BARRY’S GALAH – Raced wide in the early stages. MOLLOY – Laid in throughout the run. Hung in under pressure over the concluding stages resulting in jockey H Phillips having to stop riding and straighten her mount. TORQUE NOWOR NEVER – Raced wide in the early stages. COCO ROYAL – A fraction slow to begin. DESIGNING ARROW – Due to overweight of 1kg being declared by original rider M Butler, replacement rider S Apthorpe rode at that declared weight. Raced wide in the early stages. CONAIR – Raced wide in the early stages. Race 2: HAPPY RETIREMENT DEB MACKAY & PAUL AHERN OPEN Handicap 850M CAPITAL REIGN — Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. GOSSIP TORQUE — Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. TORQUE SENSATION — Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. GIDDY UP GIDLEIGH — Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. FRISCO'S IMAGE — Put in an awkward stride near the 400m when checked from the heels of LAST LAUGH. LAST LAUGH — Began awkwardly. Jockey W Satherley advised when queried, that his mount failed to handle the sand track and was awkward in its action throughout. Lost the right hind shoe in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor abrasions to the right hind heel and the left hock consistent with being galloped on. Race 3: DICEYS LIQUOR WAREHOUSE QTIS Maiden Plate 1000M The start of this race was delayed due to LITTLE MISS BELLE having to undergo a resaddle upon arrival to the barriers. FLAWLESS AMBITION — Raced wide throughout. Hung in under pressure in the home straight. LITTLE MISS BELLE — Raced wide throughout. CERARED — Raced wide throughout. Hung in under pressure in the home straight. JET STEAM — Laid out under pressure in the concluding stages. PICCANNINY DANCER – Jockey W Satherley reported that the filly raced very greenly and after being slow into stride, resented the kick back and failed to stretch out fully. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. STELL’S ANGEL – Raced wide throughout. Hung in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey H Richardson reported that her mount raced greenly throughout, hung in for the majority of the event and proved to be disappointing. KALPOWAR KING – Raced wide throughout. Race 4: GLADSTONE CUP 10TH AUGUST BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1194M LITTLE TOWN BLUES – Raced wide throughout. A CALL FROM HEAVEN – Slow to begin. Trailed the field throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness to the right fore leg and the mare has now been stood down pending a veterinary clearance. GRAND DE LAGO – Raced wide throughout. KEFALONIA – Raced wide throughout. NIC ME SOME – Threw its head in the air at the start. SANTORINI SUMMER – Raced wide throughout. VADABOOM (NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after becoming factious behind the barriers and making heavy contact with the outside fence. The gelding was cleared to start. Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. BEST SONG – H Richardson was accepted as the late rider for the mare for acceptable reasons. Trainer L Wanless was reprimanded under the provisions of AR106 for presenting BEST SONG with the incorrect gear. In assessing penalty stewards considered the trainers clear record of more than five years. Race 5: BUTLER FABRICATIONS BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1517M MUIRON – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. AWESOME SPIRIT – Raced wide throughout. WHISKEY ROW – Raced wide throughout. Gave ground over the final 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. READYENTIME – Began awkwardly. CANNY BOY – Slow to begin.
