QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT GOONDIWINDI RACE CLUB SATURDAY 30th NOVEMBER 2024 WEATHER: SHOWERY TRACK RATING- SOFT 5 (RACES 1 AND 2), SOFT 7 (RACE 3), HEAVY 8 (RACES 4 AND 5). RAIL: TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – T PrestonStewards Panel– W Glass GENERAL Stewards conducted an inspection of the track at 11.00am. As a result of that inspection the racing surface was downgraded to a Soft 5 from a Good 4. After a deterioration in weather conditions with heavy rain prior to Race 3, Stewards and Senior Riders inspected the racing service. All parties were of the opinion that the track was safe to race, with the section adjacent to the1400m chute on or about where it joined the course proper had a large amount of surface water laying on it. Stewards consulted with all parties including Trainers, Riders and the Club officials, this resulted in Stewards ordering the last two 1400m races be reduced in distance to 1200m events. After the running of Race 3 riders again raced concerns of visibility. As a result, Stewards ordered that all the riders consult as a group to discuss the matter. Riders then advised Stewards, that the general consensus was the track was safe and the riders would continue to offer their services for the remainder of the program. However, one rider was replaced by Stewards as he wasn’t happy to ride in the current racing conditions.
