SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:


GENERAL

After arriving on course at approximately 12.30pm RAGE WITHIN, trained by Mr L. Wanless and engaged to start in race 3, was inspected by Steward Mr S Fletcher (QRIC IRU) who noted what appeared to be a small mark on the left side of the neck. After further inspection by Stewards and veterinarian Dr P Agnew, an Inquiry was opened. 



Stewards heard evidence from Dr P Agnew as to the possible reasons for the mark being present. Stable representative S. Gilman stated that he was unaware of any issue with the mare. Trainer L. Wanless when interviewed stated that the mare had not been treated within the preceding days, Stewards could not be satisfied that any breach of the Rules had taken place and therefore allowed the mare to take her place in Race 3. A pre-race urine sample was taken from RAGE WITHIN. The inquiry remains adjourned until sample is cleared.

Race 1: GJ GARDNER MAINDEN PLATE- 1170M

The start was delayed when MORE SAVINGS became fractious, broke open its gate and had to be reset.

MAGIC FISH – Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: THE PROPERTY SHOP B’MARK 55 H'CAP – 1170M

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer G. Richardson for the late declaration of M. Crawford rider of HOPETOUN STREET.

NUG'S POCKET –Shortly after the start was tightened between runners.

GLENTHORN AVENUE – Blundered on jumping.

CANID – Raced wide throughout.

BOLD NAVIGATOR – Raced wide throughout.

METALLIC POINT – Improved on to heels approaching the 800m and had to be steadied.


Race 3: HARVEY NORMAN CLASS B H’CAP – 1030M

HIDDEN ANGEL – Reared as the start was affected. Trainer G. Richardson advised Stewards that the Mare had come to the end of it preparation and would be sent for an immediate spell.

FRANKY COLD MEDINA – Stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground.

RAGE WITHIN - Raced wide throughout.



Race 4: MADILL MOTOR GROUP B’MARK 70 H’CAP – 1030M

LEGPAZI – Slow to begin.

EXTRA SHOT – Raced wide throughout.

BJORN – Jockey I. Coombes reported at scale that when entering the home straight elected to shift wider as the gelding resented the kick back.


Race 5: THE ZINC 96 NUGGET AND AL B’MARK 50 H’CAP – 1470M

Correct weight was delayed for stewards to view patrol footage where third place ENVIRONMENTAL (App. A. Van Der Sanden) over the concluding stages had to steady from the heels of second place ISIS SPINNER (App. A. Spinks). Stewards were satisfied and correct weight was declared on the Judge’s placing’s.

TE KULA KAHA – Slow to begin and made contact with another runner. Raced Wide throughout.

AL’S DREAM – Blundered on jumping and made contact with another runner.
