Bailey GENERAL: RACE 1: BEVANS SMALL ENGINE REPAIR CENTRE MAIDEN PLATE 1030M THE DRUM BEATS ON - Permission was granted for jockey A. Taylor to ride the filly ½ kg above its allocated weight. EXCITED DREAM – Leaving the enclosure was fractious, became entangled on the outside running rail and dislodged the rider. Ambulance personnel cleared jockey S.Alam to fulfil his engagement and the mare was examined by the veterinarian and passed fit to start. Began slowly and awkwardly, then shifted in losing significant ground. DEALERS LUCK- Slow to jump THE PAST – Raced wide throughout. PRINCESS REAAN – Raced greenly in the early stages. JACK ATTACK – Over the concluding stages was bumped by CITY MARKET which shifted out under pressure. CITY MARKET – After straightening shifted out and bumped JACK ATTACK. RACE 2: THE TOPSY BATH MEMORIAL BRACELET BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1030M IN TAIWAN – Slow into stride.SPIRIT AND GRACE – Hung out throughout. JERALY - Was vetted when arriving on course late due to traffic problems and cleared to take its place in the field. Bumped on jumping and passing the 950m was tightened for room. BY CONCENT – Bumped on jumping and passing the 950m was tightened for room. JAI’S LUCK – Blundered on jumping and passing the 950m, had to be checked and lose its rightful running. At a subsequent inquiry jockey L. Londregan rider of PLAIN TRUTH was found guilty of careless riding under the provisions of AR 137(a) for making insufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in under riding, when not fully clear of JERALY who was taken in onto BY CONCENT which in turn was forced in onto JAI’S LUCK which had to be checked. Jockey L. Londregan’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 2October 2016 and to expire midnight 10 October 2016. RACE 3: SUMMIT FINANCE OPEN HANDICAP 1170M FOREGONE – Broke the barriers and travelled a short distance. Was taken back to the start and vetted and cleared to take its place in the field. Slow into stride. MAN OF DESTINY – Rounding the 850m turn was tightened between runners when JEB’S BOY hung out. JEB’S BOY – Hung out rounding the 850m turn. COVERT CHARMOUR – Raced wide in the early stages. RACE 4: THE GYMPIE TIMES LADIES RACEDAY BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1470M SPEEDREADER – Permission was granted for jockey S. Bayliss to ride the mare ½ kg above its allocated weight. SAURIMO – Dislodged apprentice A.Spinks leaving the enclosure and cantered up to the 1600m shute. After being recaptured was vetted and cleared to take its place in the field. Apprentice A. Spinks took no harm from the fall and was cleared to fulfil his engagement. LUCKS IN – Raced in a rearward position and then passing the 650m raced wide. DANDOG – Resented the kickback and raced wide from the 850m. LEAPS AND BOUNDS – Raced wide throughout. MR SEDUCTION – After passing the 400m commenced to lose ground. When questioned jockey L. Appo stated that when placed under pressure the gelding failed to respond and proved disappointing. SHOCKWAVE – When questioned as to the poor performance, apprentice C. Bayliss stated that the gelding never travelled comfortable at any stage of the event and in his opinion failed to handle today’s track conditions. RACE 5: THE GYMPIE TIMES BATTLER’S CUP BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 2160M FAMECHON BARONESS– Permission was granted for jockey M.O’Brien to ride the mare ½ kg above its allocated weight. Raced wide early before improving to take the lead passing the 1600m and shifted out over the concluding stages bumping DUBAI GEE EYE. DUBAI GEE EYE – Blundered on jumping and was bumped by FAMECHON BARONESS passing the 100m. QUICK SPUR – Slow to jump. LEGAZPI – Raced wide in a rearward position throughout. AL’S DREAM – When questioned regarding the poor performance apprentice A. Van Der Sanden stated that the gelding travelled only fairly in the early stages and failed to respond when placed under pressure passing the 400m. Trainer J. Munce advised Stewards that in light of today’s performance he was of the view that the gelding doesn’t handle racing on sand surfaces and he would restrict the gelding to races on grass tracks. He also indicated that if its form doesn’t improve he would consider retiring the gelding, nevertheless Stewards advised that a warning be placed against it for poor performance.
