Race 1: BMW FINANCIAL SERVICES BM 45 Handicap 1170 metres
Stormtrooper – Lacerations to the off-hind leg post-race, consistent with having been galloped on and also lost the off-hind plate in running.
Ticino Belle – Rider A Spinks reported that his mount did not travel comfortably at any stage of the event.
Scruff’n’Stuff – Slow to begin and raced wide throughout.
Daulat Ulti Maiora – Raced wide throughout and laid in under pressure in the straight.
Race 2: Life Members QTIS Maiden Plate 1030 metres
Eagle Vision – Hung out from the 800m
Daulat Machtigkuda – Began Awkwardly.
Beldevile – Raced wide from the 600m.
Zayde – Raced wide throughout.
Race 3: Jim Connolly Memorial BM 60 Handicap 1030 metres
Dancing Tales – Laid in throughout the event and between the 600m and 200m made contact with VICEMAN on several occasions.
Viceman – Bumped by DANCING TALES on several occasions between the 600m and 200m
Race 4: BMW Audit Services 0-55 Handicap 1470 metres
Fend Off – Slow to begin.
Mamma Media – Raced wide throughout.
Yes No Maybe So – Raced wide throughout.
Clairvue Jet – Raced wide throughout
Race 5: Brown, Macaulay and Warren Gympie Cup Handicap 1600 metres
Past Tense – Significantly slow to begin.
Mr Maharaj – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
Daunting Warrior – Raced wide during the early stages.
Bellicose – Raced wide throughout.
The Carpenter – Trainer T Hall was asked to explain the seemingly improved performance from THE CARPENTER’S most recent start. He indicated that he had expected a forward showing today as the gelding has good form when racing on sand surfaces and appears to particularly appreciate the Gympie track. He was also at a loss to explain the horses’ poor performance at Stanthorpe last start, other than to say the horse did become agitated when pre-race swab sampled and also this was THE CARPENTER’S first start at the venue and may not have handled the track.
