GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following rider overweights:
 
Race 3: ZA ZA READY - G. Kliese + 0.5kg
 
Race 1: KARINGAL PARK Class B Handicap 1460 metres
 
VICTORY FOR US – Raced keenly in the early stages. Approaching the 400m shifted out to gain clear running and raced three wide rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
DIVINE WIT – Slow to begin. Raced fiercely during the early stages. Raced wide for the majority.
 
DEORA – Raced wide during the early and middle stages.
 
WHISKEY ROW – Permission was granted for Apprentice J. Doolan to only claim 0.5kg of her full 2kg allowance.
 
TARGET THE STARS – Permission was granted for Apprentice N. Seymour to only claim 1kg of her full 2kg allowance.
 
KOSCINA – Apprentice E. Molloy reported at scale that her mount was disappointing in the straight and may have choked down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
 
 
Race 2: RAY TAPIOLAS QTIS Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow connections of 4th placegetter ANOTHER DIMENSION to view the photo finish for 3rd place. Once satisfied, correct weight was declared on the Judge’s semaphored numbers.
 
DENNYMO MAGIC – Raced wide during the early stages.
 
RAZZO – In the vicinity of the 800m, shifted in momentarily inconveniencing CHILLI CREAM who was obliged to be steadied.
 
HEEZA HUBSESSION – Trainer Mr B. Williams advised Stewards of a change of tactics today, in that they will attempt to find cover and ride the gelding quietly out of a wide barrier if circumstances permit. Shifted in on jumping and brushed with ANOTHER DIMENSION. Settled on pace. Over raced during the early and middle stages.
 
ANOTHER DIMENSION – Shifted out on jumping and brushed with HEEZA HUBSESSION.
 
BEAUTIFUL BELLE – Slow to begin.
 
CHILLI CREAM – In the vicinity of the 800m, had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of RAZZO who shifted in momentarily.
DAWN REBEL – Permission was granted for Apprentice J. Doolan to only claim 1.5kg of her full 2kg allowance. Laid in throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
 
Race 3: IYAH CREEK Class B Handicap 1000 metres
 
THE SHERPA – Held up momentarily rounding the home turn.
 
FLAMING ASTEROID – Raced wide for the majority. Laid in under pressure in the straight. In the vicinity of the 50m, continued to lay in and contacted SCARLET DESIRE who was obliged to check when ZA ZA READY simultaneously shifted out.
 
WINDPIPE – Raced three wide throughout.
 
BIG BAZ – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not racing for an extended period of time and was cleared to start. Awkward to begin.
 
SCARLET DESIRE – Permission was granted for Apprentice J. Doolan to only claim 1kg of her full 2kg allowance. Slow to begin. In the vicinity of the 50m, contacted the hindquarters of ZA ZA READY who shifted out, as FLAMING ASTEROID simultaneously laid in and as a result SCARLET DESIRE had to be checked and subsequently clipped the heels of ZA ZA READY and blundered. Jockey G. Kliese the rider of ZA ZA READY pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR131(a) in that in the vicinity of the 50m, he allowed his mount to shift out across the rightful running of SCARLET DESIRE, when insufficiently clear causing SCARLET DESIRE to clip the heels of ZA ZA READY and blunder. Jockey G. Kliese had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period of 8 days to start midnight the 11th of July 2023 and to conclude midnight the 19th of July 2023.Apprentice E. Molloy, rider of FLAMING ASTEROID, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for allowing her mount to shift ground in this incident. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer Mr J. Manzelmann was advised that SCARLET DESIRE will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
ZA ZA READY – Over raced during the early stages. In the vicinity of the 50m, shifted out when insufficiently clear and made contact with SCARLET DESIRE. As a result, ZA ZA READY’s hindquarters were momentarily turned inwards.
 
ACT OF ROYALTY – Permission was granted for Apprentice N. Seymour to only claim 1kg of her full 2kg allowance.
 
 
 
Race 4: STARLISTIC SPRINT Benchmark 65 Handicap 1180 metres
 
 
LORD OF LIGHT – Declared a late scratching at 3pm on veterinary advice after arriving on course with swelling to the near foreleg. Trainer J. Manzelmann was advised that LORD OF LIGHT will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
SHEPHERD OF FIRE – In the vicinity of the 50m was disappointed for a run and as a result, was unable to be fully tested by its rider in the run to the line.  
POLICE – Laid in under pressure in the straight. In the vicinity of the 50m, contacted PICTON who became unbalanced for a stride.
 
STARFILLY – Stood flat footed and missed the start. Trainer representative A. Holt was advised that a warning had been placed on the mare in relation to its barrier manners.
 
PICTON – In the vicinity of the 50m momentarily became unbalanced when contacted by POLICE who was laying in.
 
ZAKHEERA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not racing for an extended period of time and was cleared to start. Stood flat footed and missed the start. Trainer D. Reynolds was advised that a warning had been placed on the mare in relation to its barrier manners.
 
ENUFF ROSES – Awkward to begin. Over raced during the early stages.
 
 
 Race 5: DROVERS CUP Benchmark 60 Handicap 1830 metres
 
SHADOW GODDESS – Approaching the 600m, elected to shift out into a four wide position to gain clear running.

MEDAL – Disappointed for a run from the vicinity of the 500m until inside the 400m.
 
UNDOUBTED – Fractious in the barriers.
 
LIPEANSASS – Raced wide during the early and middle stages.
 
REBEL LAKE – Permission was granted for Apprentice N. Seymour to only claim 1.5kg of her full 2kg allowance. In the vicinity of the 200m, was momentarily held up before improving into a run between THE DRILLER and the inside running rail.
 
IN YOUR ELEMENT – Raced wide for the majority.
 
NORAH – Over raced during the early stages.
