QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT BURDEKIN RACE CLUB SATURDAY 2ND NOVEMBER 2024 WEATHER – FineTRACK RATING – Good 4RAIL – True Entire CoursePENETROMETER – N/A OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – S. Nosworthy (Cadet) (exc. 4&5)Stewards – R. Neal, K. Dean (Chair 4&5) GENERAL 1. A veterinary clearance was provided by Trainer G. Kinlyside for AUTUMN BLOOM. 2. Stewards permitted the following overweights: Race 5. C. Whiteley +0.5kg Race 5. G. Kliese +0.5kg 3. Jockey J. Felix was fined $200 pursuant to AR190(3) after being unable to make the required weight for - Race 1 (GETTIN’ LIPPY), Race 2 (MISHANI OPAL) and Race 5 (SIR ROCKET). Race 1: HOPE YA JOKING QTIS BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1000M BEYOND STAR – Raced wide with cover throughout. AURA GOLD – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection having not raced in an extended period and was cleared to start. Difficult to load. Raced three-wide throughout. BOOMING FAST – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Held up for clear running throughout the final straight and was unable to be fully tested. SMART MISSION – Began awkwardly and got back. GETTIN’ LIPPY –Jockey J. Felix was unable to make the allotted weight and was replaced by N. Thomas. MISHANI PERFECTION – Began awkwardly and got back. Following the running of Race 1, Jockey M. Mcdonald reported feeling unwell and after assessment by QAS staff on course, was declared unfit to ride for the remainder of the meeting. The rider replacements for Jockey Mcdonald are as per the Stewards race day summary. Jockey Mcdonald was transported to hospital for further observations and was advised he would require a medical clearance prior to riding again. Race 2: BILL (CODY) PRIZEMAN MEMORIAL MAIDEN PLATE 1180M The running of Race 2 was delayed 10 minutes due to an additional ambulance being required to transport Jockey M. Mcdonald to hospital. MISHANI OPAL – T. Leslight replaced J. Felix. Slow into stride. ELIZABETHAN – Reared on jumping. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn before taking a tight run to the inside of HEAD BEE passing the 100 metres. MISS FARSTAR – Laid in over the concluding stages. Race 3: RUSS REGUSON CLASS B HANDICAP 1180M HUNT THE HUNTER – Shifted in abruptly on jumping hampering COOL STORY, which was taken onto DYNA POWER, which was checked. Laid in over the concluding stages. COOL STORY – Hampered on jumping. AUTUMN BLOOM – Had to be re-saddled after arriving at the barriers. Began awkwardly.RUSSIAN ROSE – Trainer A. Maliff presented RUSSIAN ROSE without winkers, however given the delays experienced in Race 2 and the resultant shortening of time between races, no further action was taken. Raced three-wide throughout. RAPID POWER – Checked at the start and lost ground. Race 4: TRUENORTH EQUIPMENT HIRE BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1460M COLLOMBATTI – Stood flat-footed at the start and was slow to begin. Raced three-wide without cover in the middle stages. MISHANI AVIATOR – Raced four-wide without cover throughout. GINGER MICK – On returning to scale Jockey C. Spry reported that GINGER MICK hung out from the 800 metres. GIGI FILLE – G. Kliese replaced M. Mcdonald. OODLES – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn, before shifting across the heels of BOOVEY in the home straight to gain clear running passing the 200 metres. Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages. Race 5: COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER/HOME HILL CUP OPEN Handicap 1460M ECHO POINT – Shifted into a three-wide position passing the 1,000 metres to improve and raced wide for the remainder. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. SIR ROCKET – A. Thomson replaced J. Felix.Returned to the enclosure with blood present in both nostrils. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Trainer J. Manzelmann was advised that under the provisions of AR 79(4), SIR ROCKET must not, without the permission of the Stewards, be trained, exercised or galloped on a racecourse, recognised training track, private training establishment, or other place for a period of 2 months and must not start in any race for a period of 3 months, and then only after a gallop of at least 1,000 metres or an official trial or jump-out in the presence, and to the satisfaction of a Steward. MEDAL (NZ) – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. LAST NOT LEAST – Raced wide rounding the first turn. YOU ARE KING – Was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 10:30am due to an elevated temperature. Trainer B. Williams was advised that YOU ARE KING would require a veterinary clearance prior to next racing. MISSION HOUSE – Began awkwardly. Race 6: JUSTIN SCOTT MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1830M TYCOON LAD – Shifted in on jumping and bumped QUEEBEEL (NZ). RELEASE LE MISSILE – Bumped on jumping. Elected to shift into a three-wide position passing the 700 metres to improve. VIVACIOUS AWARD – Raced keenly in the middle stages. PROSPETTIVA (NZ) – Began awkwardly. MALVAGIO – Began awkwardly.
