QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT HUGHENDEN JOCKEY CLUB HUGHENDEN – SATURDAY 15th May 2021 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Dirt RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – C WarrenStewards – R SmithClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – B ClineVeterinarian – Dr L HarrimanSwab Attendants – Dr L Harriman GENERAL Stewards accepted the reasons tendered by Trainers T Parry, D Amos and H Forster for the late declaration of riders on their runners. The following runners were scratched by order of Stewards at 12:15pm when no suitable riders were available; Race 2- SILENTUS, ANOTHER EPISODERace 3- BOSS’S DAUGHTER, OUR SAY, RAIN ON ME Race 1: CORFIELD TRANSPORT BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200m GO DIAMONDS- Stewards permitted Jockey S Sheargold to ride the mare 1kg over its allocated weight when no other ride was available. BENECHI PEGASUS- Stewards permitted the gelding to race in blinkers after, due to a clerical error, this was not displayed in the official program, patrons were advised via oncourse announcement. Began very awkwardly and was slow into stride. Commenced to race ungenerously passing the 400m. Jockey F Edwards advised that at that point in the race his mount commenced to resent the heavy kickback and he was also obliged to adjust his off-side iron after becoming unbalanced. AMERICAN GENIUS- Shifted out on jumping hampering another runner. SNIPPY STRATEGIC- Hampered on jumping after being slow to begin. DO I HAVE TO- Slow to begin. DUKES COUNTY- Raced wide throughout. Race 2: KENNEDY RURAL BRACELET MAIDEN PLATE 1200m DOLLARDREAM- Inclined to hang out down the running. Stewards inquired into Jockey J Babarovichs lack of vigour over the concluding stages on the event. Jockey Babarovich advised that his mount had been inclined to hang-out down the running and as such approaching the winning post he was obliged to straighten his mount and was therefore unable to ride the mare out to the finish of the race. Stewards noted the explanation, nonetheless Jockey Babarovich was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(b), in determining penalty Stewards were mindful of the mares racing manners. Trainer K Krogh was advised the mare would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to again being permitted to start in a race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. ARIZONA SUN- Reluctant to load. Was placed under pressure early in an effort to maintain its position. NEW YORK POET- Slow to begin and trailed the field by a considerable distance throughout before finishing off well. Race 3: RAT ENGINEERING QTIS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 800m TATACHILLA- Stewards permitted Jockey F Edwards to ride the mare 2kg over its allocated weight when no other rider was available. MANOORA PRINCESS- Fractious in the barrier. Trainer S Royes was advised a warning would be placed on the fillies barrier manners. AMMATE- Raced wide throughout. KOBY’S STRATEGY- Raced wide throughout. Race 4: RINGROSE BUTTON CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400m MYOLA MILLY- After beginning on terms with the field was unable to maintain its position and trailed the field throughout before finishing off well. Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn and when placed under pressure down the running. Trainer T Parry was advised a warning would be placed on the mares racing manners. NITRO CITY- Shifted out on jumping bumping with another runner. ZAGITOVA- Bumped by another runner on jumping becoming unbalanced and blundered before shifting out. BULLET LAD- After being marginally slow to begin and bumped by another runner after being obliged to shift out and away from another runner which shifted out soon after jumping. GENG- Bumped by another runner soon after jumping. MURTALLICA- On returning to the mounting yard was found to have lost its near-side hind plate in running. Race 5: HUGHENDEN SPAR SUPERMARKET OUTBACK RACING SHOWCASE HEAT OPEN HANDICAP 1400m SPANISH HURRICANE- Marginally slow to begin before being slow into stride. Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn. Inclined to lay in passing the 100m when attempting to shift out to obtain clear running approaching the 100m.
