Correct weight for this race was delayed allowing stewards to view the replays in relation to the barrier (8) of I’M FREE not opening. The replays depicted the barrier failed to open and I’M FREE was declared a non-runner with the following betting deductions ordered, win bets to be paid less 13 cents and place bets less 12 cents in the dollar value of the ticket. All bets on I’M FREE were ordered to be refunded in full. The barriers were subsequently re-tested on multiple occasions and found to be working correctly.

BEANS BUDDY – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

I’M FREE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities, and the gelding was cleared to start. Declared a non-runner due to barrier failing to open.

IMPENDING RAIN – Laid in over the concluding stages.
