Race 1: HINCHINBROOK SHIRE COUNCIL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 3yo & UP SET WEIGHTS 1400m

MADONNA FALLS- Due to a clerical error the mare was shown as not wearing blinkers in the official race program. The mare did race with that piece of gear and patrons were made aware by way of oncourse announcement. Bumped with another runner passing the 100m and again soon after.

BRIDGERTON- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.

SWANKY SUE- Refused to load and was declared a late scratching at 2:07pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the mare were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 2:07pm:

52cents in the dollar for the win
26cents in the dollar for the place

Trainer T Rowe was advised the mare would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to again being permitted to start in a race.

REDENZO ROMAN- Slow to begin.

MISHANI DREAMER- Improved onto the heels of another runner passing the 1200m having to be steadied before shifting wider and making a forward move settling outside the leader passing the 800m.

BOWTIE BETTY- Bumped with another runner passing the 100m and again soon after.

VIZONE- Commenced to tire from the 100m. Underwent a post-race examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Race 2: COSCA ACCOUNTANT’S BM45 HANDICAP 1200m

SANDY TOES- Was declared a late scratching by order of Stewards at 12:00pm after Trainer C Mcann advised the mare had been injured the previous night in the paddock. Trainer Mcann was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to the mare again being permitted to start in a race.

RIVERINA DEMAND- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.

DUBAI EAGLE- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. Stewards, in the presence of Jockey C Spry, spoke with App J Edwards regarding the tactics adopted on the gelding, specifically that there appeared to be an opportunity in the early and middle stages to restrain and assume a position behind or outside the leader rather than pressing forward and leading as the pace was genuine. App Edwards and Jockey Spry concurred with Stewards with App Edwards noting, with the benefit of hindsight, she had erred and attempting to assume a position behind the leader would have been a better option. Stewards noted the rider’s comments.

CLOUT- Blundered soon after the start.

AMUTHON- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.

Race 3: COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1100m

AUXIN- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers, was found to be lame in the near foreleg and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 3:24pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 3:24pm:

37cents in the dollar for the win
23cents in the dollar for the place

Trainer C Attard was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race.

SUPPOSEDLY WICKED- Bumped with another runner on jumping.

BOYER- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.

TYCOON THUNDER- Inclined to over-race after being crossed by another runner passing the 1000m. Shifted in under pressure on entering the home straight.
