Race 1: Innisfail Turf Club Benchmark 55 Handicap 900 metres:
1st – MINNIE STREET 2nd – SHORT TERM 3rd – PHANTOM SOX 4th – NO BITING

ROSE OF CLARE – After being placed in the barriers kicked out at the back gates. Was inspected by the club’s veterinary officer and was a late withdrawal at 1.05pm. When correct weight was declared it was ordered that all bets placed on ROSE OF CLARE be refunded in full and all other successful bets placed on the race prior to 1.05pm be subject to the following deductions;

1st: MINNIE STREET 4c win 12c place
2nd: SHORT TERM 12c place
3rd: PHANTOM SOX 13c place

MINNIE STREET – After being placed in the barriers became fractious and broke through the front of the gates before being quickly restrained by its rider. Was inspected by the club’s veterinary officer and was passed fit to start.

LA JINETA – Stood flat footed at the start and lost considerable ground.

PHANTOM SOX – Laid out rounding the home turn.

Race 2: Backpackers Shack Benchmark 55 Handicap 900 metres:
1st – SHOT OF COURAGE 2nd – OAKFIELD AVENGER 3rd – VEE FORCE 4th – TOXICITY

OAKFIELD AVENGER – Was resuming from a lengthy spell and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.

VEE FORCE – Slow to begin.

REGENCY ROYALE – Slow to begin.

CAPT’N THUNDERBIRD – Raced keenly in the early stages.

SHOT OF COURAGE - Was inclined to lay out under pressure in the straight.

Over the final few strides TOXICITY (Apprentice M Kai) was buffeted between OAKFIELD AVENGER (Jockey K Rockett) and SHOT OF COURAGE (Jockey G Kliese) which shifted out abruptly under pressure. Jockey G Kliese was reprimanded and advised that he should have stopped riding and straightened sooner than he did on this occasion.

ALEXANDER PARADE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have shifted its off fore plate.

Race 3: Texas Raceday Open Handicap 900 metres:
1st – WISHFUL 2nd – GESTICULATION 3rd – BO ROSSA 4th – ISADOR AMORE

ISADOR AMORE – Passing the 50 metres was struck across the nose by another rider’s whip.

Race 4: Goondi Hill Hotel QTIS Maiden Plate 1200 metres:
1st – WE JUST LOVE IT 2nd – LOVE RED 3rd – JOHNNY FIX IT 4th – SHADOW MOUNTAIN

SHADOW MOUNTAIN – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

JOHNNY FIX IT – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid out under pressure in the straight.

Race 5: Larsens News Benchmark 50 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – KISSER 2nd – DANE WILL DO 3rd – SECRETS OWN 4th – SAGA’S PRINCESS

ZOE BAY – Bumped at the start.

WICKED THOUGHTS – Bumped at the start.

HEAD DRAGON – Knuckled on jumping.

SAGA’S PRINCESS – Crowded at the start.

YIFAN – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight.

Race 6: Pease Park Benchmark 60 Handicap 1500 metres:
1st – LIL’ RED MONKEY 2nd – KAMARAH 3rd – FRUMBOLI 4th – CARLSON’S FELT

I’M MARIAH – Raced keenly in the early stages.

SERGEANT SHRIVER – Pulled hard in the early stages.

THE HAWK ETERNAL – On return to scale Jockey G Kliese reported that his saddle shifted back shortly after the start and placed him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race.

GLOBAL GURU – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance Apprentice M Kai said that after being tardy at the start his mount travelled comfortably in a rearward position however was under pressure shortly after straightening and ran to the finish only fairly.
