Race 1: MOURILYAN BAKERY MAIDEN PLATE 900m
 
YOUCUDAHADDIS- Slow to begin. On returning to the mounting yard was found to have lost its off hind plate.
 
SERENE MELODY- Inclined to hang out in the early stages. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. Jockey N Yadi dropped reported that he dropped his whip in the vicinity of the 50m.
 
SHUTTER MONKEY- Shifted out on jumping. Raced very wide rounding the home turn. App E Cass advised that, in her opinion, the filly raced greenly throughout.
 
MISS HINTERLAND- Shifted in abruptly upon straightening causing Jockey W D’Avila to become momentarily unbalanced.
 
 
 
 
Race 2: NORM STEWART ELECTRICAL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 900m
 
CHARGING CLEAR- After Jockey F Edwards was found to be unable to satisfy the allocated weight on the mare Stewards, acting under the belief that no suitable senior rider was available, permitted App K Swaffer to be substituted as the rider of the mare. Shortly before the race was due to commence Stewards became aware that there was a senior rider available who could satisfy the weight. However, given the proximity to the scheduled start time of the event and that the field was already on route to the barriers Stewards permitted App Swaffer to retain the ride.
 
SUPPOSEDLY WICKED- Began awkwardly. Bumped with another runner passing the 700m. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
DANCING DIVA- Began awkwardly.
 
VARSITY- Began awkwardly. Raced awkwardly rounding the home turn taking another runner rider. Jockey D Smith was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
MAC ME MATE- Bumped with another runner passing the 700m. Bumped with another runner on straightening.
 
SIR ROLAND- Taken wider by another runner which commenced to race awkwardly rounding the home turn.  Bumped with another runner on entering the home straight.
 
SONEYMAR STAR- Crowded for room passing the 700m. Inclined to shift in under pressure down the running.
 
 
 
Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey W D’Avila, rider of 2nd place getter SONEYMAR STAR, to view the footage to ascertain whether there was grounds for a protest. After viewing the footage Jockey D’Avila elected not to proceed with any objection and correct weight was declared on the judges numbers.
 
 
 
 
Race 3: CASSOWARY COAST REGIONAL COUNCIL BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1100m
 
POWER OF DIVAS- Stewards accepted the reasons tendered by Trainer S D’Avila for the late declaration of rider on the mare. Nonetheless, Ms D’Avila was reminded of her obligations under the rule.
 
REGAN- Inclined to lay in rounding the home turn and under pressure down the running, inconvenienced another runner passing the 400m. Jockey N Yadi was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.  Raced wide the majority.
 
POWER OF DIVAS- Inconvenienced by another runner which was inclined to lay in passing the 400m.
 
SPEED EIGHT- Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
 
 
 
Race 4: BACKPACKER SHACK BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200m
 
FEMALE OFFICER- Slow into stride.
 
STYLE LINE- Commenced to over-race after being crossed by another runner approaching the 1000m and subsequently improved onto the heels of that runner having to be restrained.
 
SCHILL ROCK YOU- Restrained off the heels of another runner which was over-racing passing the 1000m.
 
INDY SHOWGIRL- Restrained off the heels of another runner which was being restrained passing the 1000.
 
SHUNTER- Slow to begin. Restrained off the heels of another runner which was being restrained passing the 1000m. Inconvenienced and obliged to shift wider to avoid the heels of another runner which shifted out passing the 250m.
 
SWEET JUNE- Shifted out marginally under pressure passing the 250m. Raced wide the majority.
 
GAME OF CIRCLES- Shifted out and away from another runner, which shifted out marginally passing the 250m, hampering another runner.
 
JONDY DES- Shifted out and away from another runner, which shifted out passing the 250m, inconveniencing another runner.
 
CORTESTA- Settled further forward than expected. Jockey C Jokic advised that after beginning well from a wide barrier she elected to go forward and obtain the lead as, in her opinion, it was apparent she was going to be caught wide. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
 
 
 
 
Race 5: ITC THANKS EVERYONE FOR 2020 BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1500m
 
PRESIDENTIAL JOY- As the gelding had raced on the 20th of November 2020, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
SAN JOAQUIN- Began awkwardly.
 
HIGHLAND SKIPPER- Slow into stride after beginning awkwardly. Inconvenienced rounding the 1200m turn when a runner to its outside shifted in.
 
SUNNY SAILOR- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Inclined to shift out under pressure down the running.
 
CARPE NOCTEM- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
 
RIO- Shifted in taking the 1200m turn inconveniencing another runner. App K Swaffer was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
CHIC SOX- Raced awkwardly rounding the 1200m turn. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
CLEAR THE BILL- Raced keenly for a short distance passing the 1100m.
 
MURTALLICA- As no other senior rider was available Stewards permitted Jockey F Edwards to ride the mare 0.5kg over its allocated weight. Raced wide the majority. Compounded in the home straight. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer T Clive advised of an intention to have blood samples taken from the mare for analysis and undertook to advised Stewards of the results.
