Race 1: NORM STEWART ELECTRICAL CLASS 6 PLATE – 900 Metres
 
WILL HE TORQUE – Trainer W. Brady was quizzed as to the reasons the gelding had not started for a long period of time with his explanation being accepted by the stewards. WILL HE TORQUE underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Very fractious entering the parading enclosure, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and again examined behind the barriers and was cleared to start. Raced ungenerously for the majority of the race.
 
MACEDON FLYER – Delayed the start when fractious in the barriers. Was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

SPARKLY STAR – Raced wide rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Due to damage to the barriers all races were started from a wider position being barrier six or wider.  
 
Race 2: TELESAT QTIS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 900 Metres
 
RAMACHANDRA – Was declared a late scratching at 11.00am after stewards were advised by trainer S. Hill the gelding refused to load onto the horse float for transportation to the racecourse.
 
SHESAYSTHANKS – The start was delayed significantly after the filly took fright from CHEYNNE BEACH which was fractious in the barriers and lunged forward riderless forcing its barrier gate open and galloping some distance before being caught and as such was declared a late scratching at 2.01pm by order of stewards. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on SHESAYSTHANKS was ordered to be refunded with deductions of 16 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets and 14 cents in the dollar on the face value of all place bets to be applicable on all bets made prior to 2.01pm. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be exhausted after completing three laps of the track and was treated by the veterinary surgeon accordingly which it responded to well.  
 
ELEGANT ZOUS – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
CHEYENNE BEACH – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Shifted in near the 150 metres bumping DANGER ONE.

ETERNAL BEAN – Slow to begin.
 
REVOULUZ – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages and laid out rounding the home turn.
 
DANGER ONE – Bumped near the 150 metres.
 
Race 3: MIDWAY BUTCHERS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200 Metres
 
SLIPPERY SLIME – Over-raced in the early stages.

SNEAKY TRUTHS – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 4: INNISFAIL WOODWORKERS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1200 Metres
 
FIRST SLIP – Blundered on jumping.
 
MISS PIXIE – Shifted wider soon after start. Rider P. Romeo advised stewards on returning to scale the mare felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities other than it possibly being struck in the near side eye with a clod of dirt.
 
FORGIATO – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
AMELIA'S RAINBOW – Refused to settle in the early stages throwing its head in the air when being restrained and as result raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.   
 
 
ROSE OF ATHENS – Jockey L. McCoy was reprimanded for use of the whip (6 times) prior to the 100m. AR132(7)(a)(ii)
 
Race 5:LARSENS NEWS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1500 Metres
 
SUPER ROSE – Slow to begin.
 
BORN TO SUCCEED – Restrained soon after the start when crowded for room. Threw its head in air when being restrained near the 1200 metres.
