BradySUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS Stewards today inquired into a report from the Innisfail Turf Club that a track rider failed to comply with the clubs trackwork policy on Thursday 5 May 2022.Innisfail Turf Club documentary evidence was tabled along with submissions from track rider Mr Joel Strickland. After considering all of the evidence Mr Strickland was issued with a charge and pleaded guilty pursuant to L.R.4. Which reads: Training track regulations:A person included in the training care, management, control or superintendence of a horse on a racecourse shall comply with any (a) any by-law, direction of any entity which has the use, occupation, control or superintendence thereof prescribing the time, manner and conditions for the use of the racecourse or any facility thereon. Notice of a by-law or direction may be by the way of in writing, a notice wherever situated upon the racecourse.The specifics of the charge being that on Thursday 5 May 2022 track rider Joel Stickland ignored the direction of the Innisfail Turf Club that the grass track was closed on this morning and proceeded to work a horse on it. In determining penalty stewards took into account Mr Strickland’s personal circumstances and guilty plea and he was subsequently fined the sum of $300 with $200 to be wholly suspended for a period of 12 months in that he does not reoffend under a similar rule within 12 months. Mr Strickland was reminded of his review right. Cairns Sunday 29 May 2022Stewards today concluded an inquiry into the behaviour of stable hand Mr Bodine Bailey prior to the running of race 5 on the day, in that he used foul language between the tie-up stall and parading enclosure. Mr Bailey requested to change his original plea of not guilty to guilty of misconduct under the provisions of AR228(b) which reads: AR 228 Conduct detrimental to the interests of racing A person must not engage in: (b) misconduct, improper conduct or unseemly behaviour; to which stewards acceded to. In determining penalty stewards took into account Mr Bailey’s personal circumstances and guilty plea and he was subsequently fined the sum of $300 with $200 to be wholly suspended for a period of 12 months in that he does not reoffend under a similar rule within 12 months. Mr Bailey was reminded of his review right. GENERAL: As jockey’s A. Thomson (Illness) and K. Rockett (Personal reasons) was not riding at todays meeting they were replaced as per steward’s summary. Ms Thomson was advised she must provide a medical clearance prior to her next race ride. Race 1: INNISFAIL WOODWORKERS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 900 MetresMISHANI DUDE – Reared on jumping and lost ground. Trainer C. McCann was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. DESERT CHATTERBOX – Slow to begin. DEVIL – Made the home turn awkwardly and shifted wider. Race 2: INNISFAIL STOCKFEEDS & SADDLERY BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 900Metres WILD CHOICE (NZ) – As the gelding was returning from a spell after having a Laryngeal Advancent (Tie forward) operation, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. This information was advised through media outlet and course broadcast. Began awkwardly and lost ground. ELEGANT ZOUS – Slow to begin. HERVOR – Slow to begin. JUST A LOVE SONG – Raced wide rounding the home turn. DO IT FOR VIV – Raced wide rounding the home turn. REVOULUZ – Raced wide rounding the home turn. SHEEZ MARVELLOUS – When questioned into the seemingly improved performance trainer A. Molino advised the mare had a hard run at its first run back from a spell and in his opinion with the drop in grade today and benefit of that run had been beneficial in todays performance. Stewards noted the explanation. Race 3: HOGAN & ASSOCIATES BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1200 MetresLICKETY LACHIE – Slow into stride. PRINCE SHUVEE – Raced wide for the majority of the race. ACTON SHALE – Raced wide for the majority of the race. KEEP ON LOVING YOU – Raced wide for the majority of the race.MUSICAL GIRL -– Raced wide for the majority of the race. SNEAKY TRUTHS – Rider F. Edwards was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(i) in that he used his whip in a consecutive manner prior to the 100 metres. SOGNI – When questioned in regard to the early tactics adopted on the gelding rider L. Morrison stated that after beginning well she elected to restrain it as she was of the opinion the gelding was not able to clear the runners to her inside and would be caught wide. She further added SOGNI finished the race off well. Her explanation was noted. Race 4: 2022 BATTLE OF THE BUSH INNISFAIL QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP – 1200MetresHARD YAGA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Threw its head in the air when being restrained approaching the 1000 metres. A post- race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have swelling on the tendon to its near fore leg and swelling to its near fore fetlock. Trainer T. Rowe was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to its next race or trial. REVENIRE – Slow to begin. DANNI'S RULER – Slow to begin. Restrained approaching the 1000 metres when racing in restricted room. Jockey S. Wilson was reprimanded for use of the whip (6 times) prior to the 100m. AR132(7)(a)(ii)Race 5: FASHIONS FROM AFAR INNISFAIL CLASS B HANDICAP – 1500 MetresJESKO – Slow to begin. LORD OF LIGHT – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure leaving the 200 metres.BELFAST LASS – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race. Laid in when crowded for room leaving the 200 metres. Race 6: MAGIC MILLIONS/ROB KOCH MEMORIAL/FNQ UP & COMING STAYERS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1800 Metres STAR INES – Slow to begin.DAY TO FAVOUR – Improved onto heels leaving the 1400 metres and was steadied. LET’S TORQUE A DEEL – Shifted wider in the back straight to improve and raced wide from that point onwards.CRAIGLEA SIMMO – A post- race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have lacerations to its near hind leg consistent with being galloped on. Trainer T. Rowe was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to its next race or trial. BORN TO SUCCEED – A post- race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have injured its near fore tendon. Trainer T. Rowe was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to its next race or trial.
