Race 1: Channel 7 Class 5 H'cap – 1609m

CASH SPINNER - A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be suffering from heat stress and tied up.

TALON LADY – A post race veterinary examination revealed it had bled from one nostril. Connections were advised that the mare must perform a 1000m gallop before stewards prior to being permitted to start again.


Race 2: City Of Ipswich F&M Class 3 H'cap – 1350m

STRELOVEN – Underwent a veterinary examination at the barriers after concerns expressed by its rider and was subsequently cleared to start.

KATELETTE – Bumped at the start.

AGORA – Began awkwardly. Steadied off heels near the 300m.

PINBALL DAWN – Steadied shortly after the start.

MORE FOR ME – Raced 3 wide throughout.


Race 3: Sky Racing QTIS 3yo Ratings Band 0-62 H'cap – 1200m

CASSE BLEU – Steadied when crowded shortly after the start. Jockey J. Lloyd was fined $100 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m

IT'S VEGAS BABY – Hampered shortly after the start.

FRENCH CONCESSION – Raced 3 wide without cover.

HAVASAY – Jockey M. Cahill reported the horse travelled well, however near the 500m appeared to strike a soft patch in the track and became unbalanced. He said from that point the horse dropped the bit and was reluctant to respond to his riding.



Race 4: Schweppes Maiden Plate – 1350m

OORAWAN – Steadied when hampered at the start.

SHADOW MAGIC – Raced 3 wide throughout.

ARASENTA – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.



Race 5: Queensland Times CG&E Class 3 H'cap – 1350m

BUCKIN THE BLUES – Checked at the 850m. Had difficulty securing clear running for a major part of the straight.

Apprentice S. Fawke, rider of DON'T DENY US, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that between the 900m and 800m he failed to take sufficient measures to prevent his mount from shifting in, resulting in a crowding to runners to his inside, being LAKOTA STOUX and THE DARK PASSENGER, resulting in THE DARK PASSENGER being taken in towards the rail across BUCKIN THE BLUES, which had to be checked. S. Fawke was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 9 days, to commence at midnight, 7 February and to expire at midnight, 16 February.


Race 6: Ray White Ipswich Class 4 H'cap – 1200m

MILITARY MANOR – Began awkwardly.

LOADED AND READY – Slow to begin. Lost its off fore plate in running.

CANNY EXCEL – Held up rounding the turn and in the early part of the home straight.

ZIPPITY LASS – Lost its off fore plate in running.

Race 7: Optus Business Centre Ratings Band 0-62 H'cap – 1690m

SPIRIT MINDED – Slow into stride.

MISHANI DE NIRO – Began awkwardly.

CHANTILLY MISS – Began awkwardly.

CALEDONIA'S CALL – Steadied shortly after the start. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight.

FIFTEEN LOVE – Raced 3 wide without cover in the early and middle stages and strode forward to race outside the lead after the 700m.
