ICIER – Had to be steadied from heels approaching the 400m.
LOVEYAH JESSIE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to SOFT 7.
RACE 3: JIBBOOM 1866 IPSWICH CUP WINNER MAIDEN H’CAP – 1100M

MRS BOOLE – Trainer K. Hickmott was fined $100 for the late declaration of B. Ainsworth as rider.
RACE 4: ITC RACE DAY PACKAGES MAIDEN H’CAP – 1666M
RUM 'N' SONG – When afforded the opportunity to comment on the horse's performance, apprentice M. McGillivray stated that after having a favourable run throughout the race the gelding failed to respond when placed under pressure from the 500m and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slower than normal recovery rate and mild heat stress.
TE KULA KAHA – L. Londregan was reprimanded for using the whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100m. In determining penalty, stewards were mindful that jockey Londregan had not been spoken to previously under the new whip rules.
ENTER SANDMAN – Had to be steadied after improving onto heels near the 1200m. Held up rounding the home turn.
RACE 5: WEDDINGS, PARTIES, ANYTHING @ ITC 0-65 H’CAP – 2150M
GOLDONI – R. Goltz reported to stewards that his mount raced keenly in the early stages.
FREEZELIGHTNING – Trainer C. Anderson was reprimanded for presenting the horse late to the enclosure.
KENTAUR – Trainer W. Bannerot was reprimanded for presenting the horse late to the enclosure.
CARACAS – When questioned regarding the horse's seemingly improved performance, trainer K. Kemp stated that the mare had not appreciated racing on the cushion track at its most recent start and he also noted that the mare had raced well at a similar distance at Doomben on 1 January 2016 and 2 starts prior to that over 2200m and in his opinion had appreciated the distance of today's event.
RACE 6: FUNCTIONS @ ITC CLASS 3 PLATE – 1350M
No racing incidents.
RACE 7: HIGH TEAS @ ITC CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M
THE BEE'S KNEES – Raced ungenerously throughout and made the home turn awkwardly.
VERSCENT – Hung out badly on the home turn. Rider R. Fradd reported that his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer K. Munce was advised that the horse must barrier trial prior to being permitted to race again.
RACE 8: BOOK NOW LADIES DAY 4TH MARCH 0-60 H’CAP – 800M
COUNT KAWANA was kicked in the off foreleg whilst parading, sustaining an injury. Acting on veterinary advice stewards ordered the horse to be a late scratching at 4.37 p.m. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on COUNT KAWANA be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers, with SP bets not subject:
4 cent in the dollar for the Win #4
7 cents in the dollar for place of winner #4
4 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #9
8 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #3
After viewing the stewards' patrol footage J. Byrne, the rider of 2nd placegetter SOCIETY QUEEN, lodged an objection against VIA CON DIOS being declared the winner, alleging interference at the 500m and from rounding the home turn until the 300m. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the videos, it was established that VIA CON DIOS, which was hanging out, shifted out at the 500m and brushed SOCIETY QUEEN, however stewards were not of the view that this incident warranted a reversal of placings, and in regards to the objection rounding the home turn, it was established that approaching the home turn both SOCIETY QUEEN and VIA CON DIOS were taken wider on the track by TRUST NO ONE, which hung out badly at that point. As Stewards were of the view that J. Orman was not entirely blameworthy for any interference sustained by SOCIETY QUEEN, they dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the Judge's placings.
DHARAVI – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Raced greenly throughout.
SINE TIMORE – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
VIA CON DIOS – Hung out rounding the home turn. Apprentice J. Orman was reprimanded for using the whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
TRUST NO ONE – Hung out badly rounding the home turn. Apprentice T. Williams will be advised that she will be reprimanded for using the whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
SNUGGLE POT – Apprentice B. Derbyshire reported at scale that the filly failed to show its customary early speed and as a result was unable to take up a leading position. She added that the filly was not entirely comfortable on today's racing surface.
WHATEVER MISS – Inconvenienced near the 200m.
