GENERAL

As G. Colless was and D. Carrigg were ill, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

RACE 1: RAY WHITE IPSWICH QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 1000M

LIVE FAST – Raced three wide. Bumped on the hind quarters rounding the home turn.

POWER OF BAS – Raced three wide without cover. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.

JOMAR'S ELEMENT – Slow to begin. Approaching the 250m attempted a narrow run between the tiring GOOD GRACIOUS MAE and ACADINI. Soon afterwards, ACADINI shifted in slightly and JOMAR'S ELEMENT WAS disappointed for that run and shifted out, clipping the heels of ACADINI. At a subsequent inquiry stewards were not satisfied that JOMAR'S ELEMENT had obtained a run to the inside and therefore took no direct action against any one rider.

GOOD GRACIOUS MAE – Compounded badly from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer G. Hardy was advised that the horse will be ineligible to compete at TAB meetings until it can establish competitive form in country areas.

MISS SONIC BOOM – Tightened for room at the start. Steadied from the heels of POWER OF BAS approaching the 400m and then shifted out and made contact with another runner.

ACADINI – Hampered at the start.

ATTRENTE – Had to be steadied near the 300m when ACADINI shifted out to avoid the heels of the tiring GOOD GRACIOUS MAE.

RACE 2: QUEENSLAND TIMES F&M MAIDEN H’CAP – 1350M

WAIKATO RIVER – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

CELESTIAL GREY – Inclined to hang in when placed under pressure over the final 200m.

RED LINES – Performed uncompetitively. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings other than that the filly had lost the off hind plate in running. Trainer G. Blake was advised that the horse will be ineligible to compete at TAB meetings until it can establish competitive form in country areas.

GOOD AFFAIRE – A. Allen reported at scale that his mount did not feel entirely comfortable in its action in front. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

SPANISH EYES – Began awkwardly and lost some ground.

RACE 3: XXXX GOLD C,G&E MAIDEN H’CAP – 1350M

The start of this race was delayed when WHAT'S THAT proved difficult to load. Trainer T. Gollan was advised that the gelding must perform satisfactorily in a trial prior to racing again.

ENDLESS DON – Due to the delay with the start, the gelding became fractious in the barriers and reared prior to the start being effected. Slow to begin. When asked to explain the horse's performance R. Wiggins explained that the gelding never travelled comfortably after not beginning well and in his view would be suited to racing over a further distance than that of today's event. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant finding.

ST JAMES SQUARE – Forced wider on the track by DODGE THE PRESS passing the 900m. Raced wide throughout.

STAR PROSECUTOR – Slow to begin.

DODGE THE PRESS – Commenced to overrace passing the 900m and shifted out to avoid heels and then raced three wide without cover from that point.

BROWN LINES – Performed uncompetitively. Trainer G. Blake was advised that the horse will be ineligible to compete at TAB meetings until it can establish competitive form in country areas.

RACE 4: SIRROMET 5 STAR WINERY CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1350M

CARTON – When attempting a narrow run approaching the 100m, was taken out by VANISHKA (B. Appo), which resulted in CARTON making heavy contact with BEDISGUISED. Apprentice B. Appo was issued with a reprimand and reminded to keep his mounts on a straight course when under pressure in the straight.

MARSHAL – Reared after being loaded in the barriers, removed, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to race. Trainer M. Leitch was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse's barrier manners.

NO THANKYOU ALI – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Hampered passing the 100m. N. Day was fined $200 for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race.

BLACKJACK PRINCESS – Slow to begin.

ONLINES – Near the 1000m had to be steadied from the heels of NO THANKYOU ALI (N. Day), which shifted in when not quite clear. N. Day was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances. Raced wide throughout. Performed uncompetitively. Trainer G. Blake was advised that the horse will be ineligible to compete at TAB meetings until it can establish competitive form in country areas.

RACE 5: RIVER FM 94.9 CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1000M

MOSS HARRY – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

MADIBA – J. Byrne advised stewards that after his mount travelled well in the lead in a race that he believed the tempo was only steady, he was very disappointed with the horse's finishing effort when asked to improve passing the 400m and failed to respond and weakened badly. Stewards will contact trainer T. Gollan in relation to the horse's post-race recovery.

TUMBLER – Slow to begin.

DAZET – Raced wide throughout.

RACE 6: IPSWICH CUP 18 JUNE F&M CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1200M

RHIATENN ROAD – Bumped heavily at the start.

LILY MY GIRL – Broke down in the near fore sesamoid approaching the 600m and was eased out of the race by its rider. The horse was euthanased on humane grounds.

RACE 7: MARQUEE TIX SELLING FAST RATINGS BAND 0-70 H’CAP – 1666M

WESTERN HEIR – Lost the off fore plate in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be mildly lame in the off foreleg.

TANGARA – Late scratching at 8.52 am on veterinary advice. Trainer J. Dann was advised that he will be required to produce a veterinary certificate.

FUSINA – When asked to provide an explanation for the horse's poor performance, apprentice B. Stower stated that her mount never travelled comfortably and when placed under pressure approaching the home turn failed to quicken and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

PERISHA – Slow to begin.
