GENERAL

As S. Eilbeck was not riding at today's meeting, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.

Race 1: XXXX Gold Ipswich Mile Class 6 Plate – 1666m

COURT'S STAR – Began awkwardly, striking its right barrier gate. Lost its near fore plate in running.

Race 2: Schweppes TL Cooney QTIS 3yo H'cap – 1350m

DEE NINE ELLE – After being boxed, lunged forward and broke through the front gates. The horse returned to the barriers, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

RELAMPAGO – Began awkwardly.

MADAME DE BAN – Steadied near the 1200m.

LOST CLASSIC – Steadied near the 1000m when crowded for room between DON'T DENY US and SALMANAZAR, which shifted out. J. Byrne, ride off SALMANZAR, was severely reprimanded.
ROXY RHYTHM – Steadied from heels near the 400m.

DEE NINE ELLE – Jockey T. Harrison dropped her whip inside the 100m. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

DON'T DENY US – A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow than normal recovery rate.

SALMANAZAR – Jockey J. Byrne was questioned regarding the tactics adopted in the middle stages. He stated he was mindful of today's track conditions he endeavoured to race away from the fence. He added that after the 1000m he raced in restricted room inside ALWAYS SACRED. He added once ALWAYS SACRED crossed him he was then happy to shift from behind that horse and allow his mount to stride forward and race 3 wide from the 700m. Jockey Byrne was of the view that regardless of these tactics adopted it did not have any bearing on the horse's finishing position.

IN HIS STRIDE – Connections advised that the improved performance today was mainly attributable to the significant drop in class of today's event.

Race 3: Sirromet Bundamba Plate QTIS 2yo H'cap – 1100m

Correct weight was delayed to allow connections of the 2nd placegetter, Happy Event, to view the official photo finish print in the Judge's box before determining there was a clear margin, after which stewards then declared correct weight.

YANKEE EXPRESS – Badly hampered at the start.

ALASSAK – Bumped heavily on the hind quarters at the start.

Race 4: Ray White Ipswich Dash Class 6 Plate – 1100m

LONDEHERO – Inconvenienced shortly after the start.

GOOD JOB BRO – Steadied when hampered shortly after the start.

SARISARA – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

Race 5: Queensland Times Winter Provincial Stayers Series BM 80 H'cap – Final 2150m

TEQUILA SLAMMER – Slow to begin.

DENONINATOR – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages.

AMEXED – Jockey R. Fradd was fined $400 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

ALL CLEAR – Severely hampered and carried 4 wide by KOBI CREEK, which shifted out. Apprentice J. Orman, rider of KOBI CREEK, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that after the 1200m he shifted his mount away from the rail and in doing so made contact with ALL CLEAR, resulting in that horse being carried wider, which allowed KOBI CREEK to then stride forward and improve its position. J. Orman was suspended from riding in races for a period of 11 days, to commence at midnight, 25 June, and to expire at midnight, 6 July.

COASTAL GEM – Inconvenienced near the 1200m.

JIMMY HOFFA – Inconvenienced near the 1200m.

Race 6: Channel 7 Ipswich Cup – 2150m

WORTHY CAUSE – A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse had bowed its tendon on the near foreleg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.

NISSILE – Jockey A. Spinks reported his mount overraced badly in the early and middle stages.

Race 7: City Of Ipswich Eye Liner Stakes – 1350m

NINTH LEGION – Trainer P. Robl was fined $100 for failing to produce the ID card for the horse. Change of tactics. To be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The horse raced behind the leaders. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer Mr P. Robl stated that its first up run in May at Scone the gelding only weakened over the concluding stages and did not handle the heavy track conditions at Rosehill at its previous start. He added that the addition of blinkers and the class of today's race contributed to the improved performance.

DAPH 'N' ALF – Trainer C. Marsh was fined $100 for failing to produce the ID card for the horse

OLD HABITS – Trainer K. Goldman was fined $200 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time.

TRUBIA – Began awkwardly. Jockey M. Cahill stated that despite having a favourable run throughout, when asked for an effort the horse was unable to quicken in today's track conditions.

TIME TO PLUNDER – Slow into stride.

ROYAL OCCASION – Slow into stride.

Race 8: Sky Racing Gai Waterhouse Classic F&M Quality Listed – 1350m

CARTIER ROCK – Bounded at the start.

ADORABUBBLE – Steadied when weakening near the 250m.

SCARLET BILLOWS – Laid in under pressure in the straight. Jockey J. Allen reported that passing the winning post and then on pulling up and made an abnormal respiratory noise. He said he recommended to connections they consider adding a tongue-tie to the mare's gear.
