The horse settled in a midfield position. A. Allen reported that his mount hung out for the majority of the event.DRUMMER'S CHOICE – Began awkwardly.ENDLESS DON – Had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at heels approaching the winning post on the first occasion. Raced three wide without cover.HEY MR DEE JAY – Raced wide throughout. D. Langridge pleaded guilty to charge under AR. 137A(5)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. Jockey Langridge's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days, to commence at midnight on Friday 1 July and expire at midnight on Friday 8 July 2016. In determining penalty, stewards took into account jockey Langridge's recent poor record in relation to whip use.PIPPOS – Tightened for room at the start. Raced wide in the early stages and then was allowed to stride forward to take up a position outside the leader near the 1200m. Lost the off fore plate in running.BRIGHTNBREEZY – When questioned regarding the horse's disappointing performance, apprentice S. Lacy stated that the mare travelled well until a point near the 1000m where the pace of the race quickened and then was left flat-footed and was disappointing. She added that in her opinion the mare did not appreciate today's track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.SHOW A FLICK – Raced wide from the 800m.LARVOTTO BEACH – Raced wide from the 800m.RACE 2: CHANNEL 7 QTIS 2YO CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200MEVE'S JET – Slow to begin after being fractious in the barriers.STRYKING STUNNAH – When questioned, T. Harrison stated that she raced three wide without cover throughout, but was not overly concerned with this because she was of the view that the track conditions on the inside were inferior. She added that STRYKING STUNNAH's form suggests that the filly handles heavy tracks, however, in her opinion, being first up from a spell today, the prevailing track conditions may have been a telling factor on the performance. Trainer J. Zielke agreed that the filly failed to handle today's track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.RACE 3: SCHWEPPES CLASS 5 H’CAP – 1350MPYTHAGOREAN – Had to be steadied near the 150m when tightened for room between and BABUR and MR ALFRANCO, which shifted out under pressure.MR ALFRANCO – Raced three wide in the early stages and was allowed to stride forward to take up a position outside the leader near the 700m.FUSINA – Raced three wide without cover from the 700m.SENGLEA SUN – Held up approaching the home turn.LEWAULO – Jockey J. Lloyd advised that the gelding raced a little keenly in the early stages, however he could offer no tangible explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slower than normal post-race recovery rate.RACE 4: CITY OF IPSWICH MAIDEN H’CAP – 1350MTrainer R. Smith was fined $100 for the late declaration of R. Williams as the rider of OPTIMISTIC HEART.The start of this race was delayed when EIGHT VERSES, which lost the off fore plate, was replated behind the barriers.GLENTURRET – Raced three wide throughout without cover. Laid in under pressure for the majority of the home straight.BRONZED VENOM – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Bumped shortly after the start. Apprentice C. Dell reported that his mount failed to handle the track conditions.MARINA'S SON – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.SABATO – Placed in restricted room for a short distance shortly after the start.WENSLEY ROAD – Shifted in shortly after the start and bumped BRONZED VENOM, then a short distance later was tightened for room and lost ground.RACE 5: SIRROMET CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1100MTrainer L. Gough was fined $100 for the late declaration of apprentice M. Murphy as the rider of EDGE AWAY.SIROCAN – Bumped at the start.SHADY DAISY – When questioned regarding his riding tactics, jockey B. Stewart stated that he was issued no specific instructions, however noted that the filly had previously finished its races off best when ridden patiently and therefore he was content to settle towards the rear of the field.EDGE AWAY – Shifted in at the start and bumped SIROCAN.ONE MORE MAGIC – J. Byrne was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the end of the race.RACE 6: THE ENTIRE GROUP CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1666MCOLLATERAL – Slow to begin.FLAUTINO – J. Byrne reported to stewards that his mount never travelled comfortably on today's track and when placed under pressure leaving the 800m failed to respond to his riding. He added that near the 450 the mare became unbalanced in the going and as a result he was unable to fully test his mount for the remainder of the event. INFINITE SUCCESS – R. Wiggins reported that his mount was disappointing and failed to handle the prevailing track conditions.LOST THIEF – Overraced in the early stages. Placed in restricted room rounding the home turn.WHYNOTROC – Momentarily held up and then had to be steadied when shifting out across heels rounding the home turn.SWEET BUCKS – Failed to muster speed in the early and middle stages despite the efforts of its rider. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.SLALOM – Began awkwardly.RACE 7: RAY WHITE IPSWICH CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1350MTrainer H. Page was fined $100 for the late declaration of J. Byrne as the rider of LANIKAI MISS.JETFIRE – Had to be steadied away from the heels of FIRST CRUSH, which shifted out near the 200m when not sufficiently clear. Apprentice M. Murphy, the rider of FIRST CRUSH, was issued with a reprimand.ROCK SCENT – Disappointed for a run approaching the 200m and had to be steadied.REMISSIO – Bumped and became unbalanced rounding the home turn.
