RACE 1: HAPPY 44TH PETER & DEL MAIDEN PLATE – 1350M

RACE 2: CHANNEL 7 QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1350M

Apprentice M. Murphy was reprimanded for failing to be on course by the prescribed time.

LUJAC – Raced wide from the 800m. Inclined to hang out rounding the home turn.

SIR DENIER – Slow into stride.

WILD ELEMENT – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. Shifted in abruptly near the 300m, obliging the rider to stop riding and straighten her mount.

SENORITA ROSITA – Began awkwardly.

RACE 3: CITY OF IPSWICH QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 1025M

The start of this race was delayed when GYPSY MISS proved difficult to load. A warning was placed against the filly's barrier manners.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT – Began awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with NO MORE HEIGHTS. Had to be steadied near the 300m when another runner shifted in.

RED SCARLET – T. Harrison reported at scale that after beginning awkwardly and being tightened for room at the start, she settled further back than anticipated. She added that as a result of this the gelding raced greenly throughout and hung out rounding the home turn. She further added that the gelding was inclined to lay in for the majority of the home straight.

THUNDER RAIDER – Had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at heels entering the home straight.

JADEDFOX – Hung out rounding the home turn. Buffeted between runners near the 300m and a short distance later had to be eased to avoid the heels of RED SCARLET and was then obliged to shift out around the heels of RED SCARLET to obtain clear running and was inclined to lay out for the remainder of the event.

DAPPER ONE – Shifted in under pressure near the 300m.

RACE 4: SKY RACING F&M CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1100M

AMBITIOUS BLONDE – T. Harrison reported at scale that her instructions were to take up a forward position, however after beginning from a wide barrier, the mare failed to show sufficient speed to cross runners to her inside and as a result was caught racing wide. She therefore elected to restrain the mare and take up a position at the rear of the field with cover.

GRACEFULLY CHIC – Tightened for room at the start and bumped heavily shortly after.

IMPERIAL BELLE – Shifted in at the start, making heavy contact with GRACEFULLY CHIC and became unbalanced. Overraced in the early and middle stages.

HAVEN ANGEL – Shifted out at the start, made contact with GRACEFULLY CHIC and became unbalanced.

RACE 5: SIRROMET 5 STAR WINERY C,G&E CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1100M

KHALEEQ – Began awkwardly. Shifted three wide to improve into the race near the 600m.

DOUBLE DOLLARS – Held up for a short distance rounding the home turn and was then disappointed for a run between KHALEEQ and BOLD PEAK until obtaining clear running near the 150m.

SUNNY VICTORY – Shifted out to obtain clear running near the 500m and in doing so bumped KHALEEQ and was then forced back in and was awkwardly placed at heels.

BROCSON – Began awkwardly. Had to be steadied near the 50m and was unable to be ridden to the line when disappointed for a narrow run to the inside of CAPTAIN'S SON.

BOLD PEAK – The veterinary surgeon reported that the horse had sustained a laceration to the near hind leg, consistent with being galloped on.

CAPTAIN'S SON – Began awkwardly.

RACE 6: SCHWEPPES CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1350M

BELFLYER – N. Day reported at scale that it was not his intention to lead the event today, however after beginning well and without being overly pressured, he found himself racing in the lead in the early stages.

RAFFINATO – Improved on to the heels of CUSHY NUMBER when the pace of the race steadied near the 1100m, shifted out to a three wide position and was allowed to stride forward to take up the lead near the 800m.

CASINO EXPRESS – Commenced to overrace after being crossed by BELFLYER near the 1200m and as a result of the slow tempo that was set, continued to overrace for the majority of the event.

LOFN – Slow to begin. Forced wide rounding the home turn.

CASHINKO – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.

RACE 7: RAY WHITE IPSWICH CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1710M

After the running of Race 2 a number of senior riders approached stewards with concerns about the section of the track between the 1600m and approximately the 1400m. After stewards conducted an inspection of that section of the track along with riders, they were of the belief that their concerns were valid, particularly with Race 7, a 1710m event, which would have raced directly over this part of the track. Stewards considered the possibility of moving the running rail and also shortening the race to 1350m after a majority of trainers confirmed to stewards that they were prepared to race from the 1350m. Stewards, however, were mindful of the significant distance gap if the race was reduced from 1710m to 1350m and therefore, acting in the best interests of all parties, elected to abandon the race after exploring all avenues.
