ARGYLL BAY – Laid in in the straight.MADIBA – Laid in in the straight. MAGIC SQUARE – Raced 3 wide. MAJELLA MAGIC – An inquiry was opened into the instructions given to, and the tactics adopted by jockey T. Harrison. Stewards expressed concerns with Miss Harrison's riding of the mare in the early stages and again approaching the home turn and shortly after straightening. After taking evidence from Jockey T. Harrison and trainer Mr T. Gollan, the matter was adjourned to a time and date to be fixed to allow stewards to peruse some aspects of the evidence presented. RACE 2: CHRISTMAS PARTIES @ ITC BOOK NOW MAIDEN PLATE – 1666M FRANKS – Replated behind the barriers. MANSALE – Reared as the gates were released, losing considerable ground. WHEN IN DOUBT – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer S. Saal-Winter was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse.SUSHI OLE – The saddle shifted forward in the middle stages. REDMIA – Jockey J. Taylor dropped his whip near the 100m. OUR GIRL CHARLOTTE – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. RACE 3: HUTCHINSON BUILDERS MAIDEN H'CAP – 1350M NO MORE CUDDLES – Declared a late scratching at 11.25 am on veterinary advice. WENSLEY ROAD – Declared a late scratching at 1.20 pm on veterinary advice.LUJAC – Crowded at the start. BIG MAMA – Crowded at the start. STORMY LEO – Overraced in the middle stages. CAPTAIN TREASURE – Bumped heavily near the 900m. LUJAC – Bumped heavily near the 900m. RACE 4: WISEMAN ACCOUNTANTS RATINGS BAND 0-58 H’CAP – 2150M TWO SHILLINGS – Chang of tactics. Connections advised that he horse would be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The horse ridden accordingly. NATURE BITES – Began awkwardly. Overraced approaching the winning post on the first occasion and then shifted wider making the first turn. Due to the tempo of the race, was shifted wider on the track and allowed to stride forward and cross to the lead near the 1000m. ONEMORE TWIST – Began awkwardly. Hung in under pressure. MARLAHN – Overraced approaching the winning post on the first occasion. SOMERSET LASS – Inconvenienced making the first turn. MILITARY LADY – Had trouble improving into the race from the 600m behind tiring runners, and on straightening was again held up and obliged to shift in to find clear running. RACE 5: WESTERN SUBURBS HOCKEY CLUB COLD BLOODED – Trainer S. Kendrick was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Apprentice T. Brooker reported the mare returned to the enclosure with its tongue over the bit. ALFIE JUNIOR – Began awkwardly. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight and hung in over the concluding stages. BROOKTON ICE – Was caught 3 wide in the early stages without cover and allowed to stride forward by its rider to race outside the lead after the 1200m. TEAR US APART – Apprentice M. Murphy reported the gelding never travelled comfortably in today's track conditions. AUDELLA – A post race veterinary examination revealed swelling to the near-side knee. RACE 6: UNITED SPORTS CLUB CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1350M LOFN – As P. Hammersley was indisposed, B. Stower was substituted as the rider of the horse. Began from the outside barrier and allowed to stride forward and refused to settle for its rider, therefore resulting in it leading by a big margin, which was against its normal racing pattern. B. Stower confirmed that as the horse was usually slow to begin she urged it out of the gates however it then proved too keen for her to settle and overraced. FLIGHT ACADEMY – Began awkwardly. AMAJILL – Bumped at the start. RICH REWARD – Laid in in the straight. RACE 7: FAREWELL DR KEV BRENNAN CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1350M BROCSON – Slow into stride.ITALIAN AFFAIR – Began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide without cover.
