RACE 1: LIQUOR INDUSTRY ACTION GROUP (LIAG) CG&E CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1010M

MR HENNESSY - Had to be steadied shortly after the start when tightened for room and as a result settled further back in the field than anticipated.

VIDA BLUE – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Bumped rounding the home turn.

PAT KASH – Hampered at the start when tightened for room.

ZOU DER ZEE – Shifted out rounding the home turn to obtain clear running and bumped VIDA BLUE.


RACE 2: BROTEHRS LEAGUE CLUB MAIDEN H’CAP – 1680M

SHINOBI – Stewards accepted the explanation for the late declaration of J. Hodge as the rider of the horse.

BIG MAMA –Tightened for room at the start.

WHY THE LONG HEAD – Shifted out shortly after the start, hampering THE GRINGO. – Overraced in the early stages. Hung out across heels rounding the home turn and had to be checked.

THE GRINGO – Hampered shortly after the start.

LORD DARIUS – Shifted in under pressure approaching the 200m, resulting in its rider having to stop riding and straighten.

SHINOBI – Had to be eased near the 50m from the heels of THE GRINGO, which shifted in under pressure.

MAJESTIC SHADOW – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

BRED IN THE RED – Apprentice R. Williams reported to stewards that it was her intention to take up a forward position, however the gelding overraced in the early and middle stages, which resulted her mount leading by a considerable distance. Trainer J. Williams indicated it would be her intention now to remove the blinkers in an effort to assist the gelding to settle during its races, and also that she would consider a drop back in distance.


RACE 3: GREATER SPRINGFIELD QTIS 3YO C & G MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200m

TRUE STEPPER – As J. Lloyd was indisposed, J. Orman was substituted as the rider of the horse. Bumped at the start.

SIR PLUCKA - The start was delayed considerably when the gelding continually got its tongue over the bit and as a result had to be refitted with a different bridle.

ANOTHER SLIPPER – Began awkwardly.

MOLA RAM – Began awkwardly and made contact with RAHDANE.

RAHDANE – Bumped at the start.

INNOCENT HEART – Began awkwardly and bumped at the start.

CAPO DI TUTTI – Had to be steadied when overracing and being restrained near the 900m. Shifted out near the 700m when overracing and raced 3 wide.

VIMOCO – Failed to muster any speed in the early and middle stages despite the efforts of its rider.

STAGE EXPRESS – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.


RACE 4: IPSWICH COUNTRY CLUB MAIDEN PLATE – 1350m

MUSTANAERO – Slow to begin and lost considerable ground.

SHADOW MAGIC – Tightened for room at the start.

SANJAY – Began awkwardly.

MCDINGA – Forced wider on the turn when hampered by another runner.

WINNING SPIRIT – Hung out rounding the home turn, and when entering the straight shifted out abruptly, hampering JAGNIWAS.

JAGNIWAS – Hung out rounding the home turn. Hampered on entering the home straight. Raced 3 wide without cover.

RAUCAUS – Raced wide. Jockey R. Fradd reported at scale his mount raced ungenerously throughout. He recommended to connections the use of a cross-over noseband.

SWEET MARGARET – Raced wide.


RACE 5: RIVERLINK SHOPPING CENTRE F&M CLASS 1 H’CAP - 1010M

RUBYCUE- Declared a late scratching at 12.20 pm following advice from trainer P. Gardner that the mare had an elevated temperature.

ULTRONEOUS – Began awkwardly. Severely hampered and forced wider on the home turn.

MRS BOOLE – Commenced to hang out from the 600m and then hung out badly rounding the home turn, hampering other runners. Trainer B. Hudson was advised that the mare would have to trial in an official trial before racing again. Lost its near fore plate in running.

IMPERIAL BELLE – Severely hampered and forced wider on the home turn.


RACE 6: PROVIDENCE SOUTH RIPLEY CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1680m

ALFIE JUNIOR – Reared at the start and lost ground. Shifted in under pressure approaching the 200m. Shifted in abruptly near the 50m. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

AGORA – Began awkwardly. When attempting to maintain a 3 wide position leaving the 500m was forced wider and had to be steadied from the heels of EIGHT BELOW, which shifted out. Apprentice J. Orman, rider of EIGHT BELOW, was issued with a reprimand.

EIGHT BELOW - Hampered at the start.

WITCHES LUCK – Had to be eased when tightened for room near the 200m.


RACE 7: SAMMUT BULOW RATINGS BAND 0-65 H'CAP – 1200M

DESTIVA – Trainer B. Ahrens was reprimanded for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time.

CASTANITA – Slow to begin.

TRY 'N' CATCH ME – Began awkwardly. Bumped and forced wider near the 500m.

KAYENTA – Improved onto heels leaving the 600m and shifted out, making contact with TRY 'N' CATCH ME, which was forced wider at that point.

MEDIA MAID – Had to be eased of the heels of HAD ME AT HELLO leaving the 200m and obliged to shift in to obtain clear running.
