GENERAL

As apprentice S. Lacey was indisposed, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.


RACE 1: NERANG RSL PUNTERS CLUB RATINGS BAND 0-60 H'CAP – 1690m

AMULETO – Connections advised that the horse would be ridden back in the field from the awkward alley if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.

WITCHES LUCK – Began awkwardly and was tightened for room at the start.

FRISCO JOE – Commenced to overrace near the 1300m and shifted out and raced wide. Apprentice B. Ainsworth reported at scale that the slow tempo did not suit her mount today, and that she dropped her whip near the 100m.

LAYLA'S LAD – Lost off fore plate in running.


RACE 2: #A4211 SPORTSBAR RATINGS BAND 0-60 H’CAP – 800M

JEPTOO – Had to be steadied from heels leaving the 600m. Lost its near fore plate in running.

SHOUTS ALL – Hung out rounding the home turn.

CAPITAL CITY – When afforded the opportunity to comment on the performance, apprentice B. Ainsworth stated that the mare was unable to show the necessary speed in the early stages to take up a position with cover and as a result raced wide throughout. She added that, in her opinion, the mare may not have been suited with the drop back in distance to 800m today. Apprentice Ainsworth further stated that Capital City was somewhat disappointing. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

LUSHNESS – A post race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the near hind leg.


RACE 3: GLENN ENVGVIG CG&E MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200m

DESTINY'S SISTER – Began awkwardly

OH SO QUIET – Had to be steadied from the heels of DESTINY'S SISTER, which shifted in when not fully clear near the 1100m, and as a result OH SO QUIET commenced to overrace and shifted out, hampering LET IT SLIDE. Apprentice N. Masuda, rider of DESTINY'S SISTER, was reprimanded.

LET IT SLIDE – Hampered near the 1100m.

MANABAR – Jockey B. Appo reported at scale it was not his intention to settle outside the leader, however after beginning well he allowed his mount to take up that position.

RECOMPENCE – Apprentice J. Hodge reported to stewards that the gelding was inclined to race greenly throughout and would take benefit from today's event.


RACE 4: BOQ WINSTON GLADES F&M MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M


DENARTE – Began awkwardly.

GIFTED FORTUNE – Began very awkwardly and shifted in, making heavy contact with UNCHARTERED, which was initially slow to begin. Raced ungenerously and had to be steadied approaching the 400m.

SHOUTIN' – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the below market performance, jockey D. Griffin stated that the only explanation he could offer for the disappointing performance was that the mare failed to handle today's track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities at the time of examination.

MAGICALITY – Overraced in the early stages. When overracing passing the 800m had to be checked from the heels of DENARTE. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn and then entering the home straight shifted in under pressure.

ZHUKOVA – Jockey R. Fradd reported to stewards that the mare commenced to overrace near the 800m resulting in him shifting out and racing 3 wide for the remainder.

SHAWL – Raced 3 wide in the early stages and near the 800m was forced wider and raced 4 wide for the remainder.

DANCING DERINA – Raced wide for the majority of the race.



RACE 5: LAST MAN STANDS T20 CRICKET CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1200M

LA LA ROCK – Underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers which cleared the gelding to start. Slow into stride and then commenced to overrace from near the 800m and continued to do so until nearing the 500m.


RACE 6: BREMER FORD CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1350M

BROOKTON ICE – Slow into stride.

MILLIGAN HARP – Disappointed for clear running leaving the 200m and obliged to shift in to obtain clear running.

BOURBON ROAD – Jockey J. Byrne was fined $100 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m
