Race 1: Whelan & Nortley Joinery Maiden Plate – 2150m
 
ENCOSTOLOGY – Proved difficult to load. Slow to begin.  Commenced to weaken from the 700m and finished tailed off.  Trainer's representative Mr A. Bruggerman was advised by stewards that as a result of today's performance the gelding would be barred from provincial meetings until it establishes country form.  Lost its off fore plate in running.
 
TE KULA KAHA – Began awkwardly.
 
LITTLE MSS MONACO – Shifted in abruptly at the start.
 
TRUST MISTY – Hampered shortly after the start.  Raced wide in the early stages until being restrained to obtain a position at the rear of the field with cover.  When asked to comment on the performance, jockey  S. Bogenhuber explained that after being caught wide and having to restrain to take up a position with cover at the rear of the field the filly was unable to race in its customary position and she  felt that this, along with today's prevailing track conditions, contributed to the disappointing performance.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
 
 
 
WENSLEY ROAD –   Apprentice J. Hodge reported at scale that his mount was inclined to hang out rounding the first turn, and then raced ungenerously for the remainder of the event. Leaving the 700m commenced to weaken badly and finished tailed off.   Stewards advised trainer R. Drysdale that the gelding would be barred from provincial meetings until it establishes country form.
 
SEBRING FLING – Stable representative for trainer S. Kendrick reported that the gelding had bled from the off-side nostril. Connections were advised that the horse must perform a 1000m gallop prior to its next race start.
 
 
Race 2:  Ipswich Hospice Inc. Class 3 Plate – 1200m  
 
The start of this race was delayed due to an interstate venue.
 
HIGH DEGREE – Commenced to overrace and shifted out near the 1000m and bumped SHARPE HUSSLER.
 
SHARPE HUSSLER:  Bumped near the 1000m.
 
CLARADINI –  Raced wide in the early stages and allowed to stride forward to take up a position outside the leader near the 700m.
 
ALL NATURAL -  Apprentice H. English reported at scale her saddle shifted forward during the event and also that the gelding was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.
 
Race 3: Bestmark Insurance Brokers F&M Maiden H'cap – 1100m
 
SILK PEARL – Trainer  B. Lockwood was fined $100 for failing to enact a gear change for the horse by the prescribed time, that being the addition of a tongue-tie to the gear of the horse. Slow to begin. Commenced to overrace near the 1000m and shifted out and bumped CULOTTES .  As a result, CULOTTES was awkwardly placed at the heels of IRISH EYES and had to be steadied and lost ground.  Held up approaching the home turn.
 
IRISH EYES – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
MOLLY MIYAKO – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 4: Mortgage Choice Ipswich CG&E Maiden H'cap – 1100m
 
AMERICAN ENSIGN – Began awkwardly and shifted in, making heavy contact with anoher runner.  
 
FUZZY MELON – Bumped heavily at the start and lost ground.
 
SAMUEL JAMES -  Commenced to overrace at the heels of AMERICAN ENSIGN and had to be steadied  when attempting to obtain cover near the 1000m
 
STORMY LEO – Held up momentarily rounding the home turn. Raced wide without cover.
Race 5: Ramsay Plumbing & Drainage Service Class 1 H'cap – 1100m
 
LIGHT PHILOU – The start of this race was delayed when jockey M. Hellyer was dislodged when proceeding to the barriers.  After galloping for a short distance, the gelding was recaptured, returned to the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.  Jockey Hellyer was also cleared of any injury and fulfilled his engagement on the horse.
 
GOTTA CHANCE – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
HIGHWAY QUEEN – Tightened for room at the start.  Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn and then over the concluding stages was inclined to lay in across heels, resulting in jockey A. Spinks being unable to ride the mare out to the finish of the race.
 
SUPER MARS – Tightened for room at the start.
 
VIDA BLUE – Overraced for a short distance near the 800m.
 
JADEDFOX – Raced 3 wide without cover in the early stages until obtaining  a position outside the leader near the 600m.
 
 
 
Race 6: The Ipswich Kia Cup Ratings Band 0-60 H'cap – 1666m
 
AGORA – Slow to begin.
 
CROUPIER – Began awkwardly.
 
DAGGA BOY – Raced wide in the early stages until being restrained to obtain a position with cover near the 1400m.  Shifted out to improved approaching the 600m and raced wide for the remainder of the race.
 
ATTITUDINAL MISS – Raced 3 wide from the 1400m.  Forced wider on the track near the 600m.
 
CLANGORANDA – Had to be eased from heels approaching the 400m.
 
 
Race 7: Tansey Partners Class 2 H'cap – 1350m
 
NO DOUBT A DIAMOND – Jockeky G. Goold reported at scale it was not his intention to lead, however after being caught wide in the early stages he elected to stride forward and assume that position. He further added that he placed the gelding under pressure in the home straight and proved disappointing.
 
WORLD SERIES – Held up upon entering the home straight.
 
WEHRMAN – Held up rounding the home turn and rider  J. Hoopert dropped his whip near the 100m.

 
PERFECTLY SWEET – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.  A post race veterinary examination  revealed the mare to have a poor post race recovery.  A swab sample was taken.
