RACE 1: TM DOYLE PLANT HIRE MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200m



ZASTYLE – After breaking through the barriers prior to the start being effected, was returned to the gates, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Began awkwardly.



CHICAGO NIGHTS – Bumped at the start. Held up rounding the home turn. Momentarily impeded when racing in restricted room near the 200m.



FETHARD – Was slightly hampered when racing in restricted room rounding the home turn.



LOST VIRTUE – Had to be steadied when racing in restricted room passing the 200m.



THE EXHIBITIONIST – Jockey L. Dittman lost his whip near the 100m. Bumped approaching the 50m by PRIEST'S ROAD, which laid in.



PRIEST'S ROAD – Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages and bumped another runner.



THE MANAGEMENT – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.



VALKNUT – Hung out and raced greenly for the majority of the race.









RACE 2: BL&SM VAN D ER MEER QTIS 3YO C&G MAIDEN PLATE – 1020M



CASH'N'RUN – Blundered on jumping away and became unbalanced and shifted out, almost dislodging its rider, then ridden forward to obtain a position outside the leader. Jockey J. Byrne reported after being awkwardly away, he rode his mount forward, as per its normal racing pattern, to obtain a position outside the lead. He added that, in his opinion, the gelding secured this position without undue pressure and only tired over the final 100m.



MY CRIMSON LAD – Had to be steadied when slightly tightened for room by POWERFUL FLASH, which laid in.



C'MOME PADDYREILLY – Became unbalanced passing the 800m when having to be steadied away from the heels of CASH'N'RUN, which shifted in. Raced wide throughout.



BAGGINS – Raced greenly for a short distance passing the 600m and again in the home straight. Raced wide throughout without cover.





RACE 3: CHEK AIR CONDITIONING F&M CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1350M



GOTTA CHANCE – Slow to begin.



ALPENGLOW – Slow to begin.



CLOSE ENOUGH – Hung out for the entire race, placing its rider at a disadvantage in riding his mount to the finish. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer W. Payne advised he would now send the horse for a spell however Stewards advised Mr Payne that the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next race start.



MISS AMIGO – Jockey R. Fradd reported at scale that, in his opinion, the mare may have come to the end of its campaign, and he recommended to connections that the horse be sent for a spell. He added that MISS AMIGO did not appreciate the firm racing surface today.





RACE 4: SURFACE ARCHETYPES MAIDEN H’CAP – 1710M



SPORTSTAR SAMUEL – Slow to begin. Tightened for room between runners shortly after the start. When questioned regarding the performance, jockey J. Lloyd stated that as per its normal pattern the gelding raced in a rearward position. He added he was instructed to improve into the race passing the 700m as the horse is one paced, however it failed to respond to his riding, and subsequently he advised connections the horse would be better suited to larger tracks over more distance than that of today's event. Stewards noted the comments.



CELESTIAL GREY – Slow to begin and bumped at the start.



SCARLETT HUSSIE – Began awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with CELESTIAL GREY. Raced wide rounding the home turn.



WATCHED – Raced wide in the early stages before improving to take up a position outside the leader.



HUKA PELE – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.



DUBLEO'S LAD – Raced wide rounding the home turn.







RACE 5: JENNY RYAN MEMORIAL CG&E CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1350M



SIENNA SON – Slow to begin. Had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of HEFNER passing the 700m.



RED RAGGA – Began awkwardly and bumped another runner. Had to be steadied off the heels of CHANGE OF LUCK which laid in.



WHO'S YOUR DADDY – Bumped at the start.



CHANGE OF LUCK – Inclined to lay in approaching the 1100m.



HEFNER – Overraced in the early and middle stages. When overracing passing the 800m got its head up and shifted out.



LIGHTNING BELL – Obliged to steady from heels and shifted out near the 700m.



THEOPOLY – Momentarily steadied to avoid heels near the 700m.



JORJA'S JET – Had a tendency to lay out rounding the home turn and had to be checked when placed awkwardly at the heels of CHANGE OF LUCK, which laid in at this stage.





RACE 6: COMMON COURTESY PEST CONTROL CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1350M



MADIBA - Began awkwardly and was tightened for room shortly after the start, and as a result raced in a rearward position.



CLARADINI – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.



ROCK OF GLORY – Raced 3 wide with cover after passing the 700m.



















RACE 7: BROTHERS LEAGUES CLUB IPSWICH CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1710M



HYPERACTIVE – Trainer B. Ahrens was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time.



LAURINOOR – Slow to begin and then raced wide rounding the home turn.



ANNIHILATION – Overraced in the early stages.



BENICO'S PRINCE – Overraced and shifted wider on the track passing the 1350m.



SPUR ME UP – Laid in rounding the home turn when under pressure, and tired over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.



BILBERRY STAR – Held up for clear running from the 350m, and only able to obtain clear running over the final 80m.
