GENERAL
 
A number of jockeys riding at today’s meeting were sampled.
 
Race 1: MACK METROLINER QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 800M
 
ROYAL MYTH – Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
KEEN INSTINCT – Dwelt at the start after being fractious in the barriers. Hung out and made contact with another runner whilst racing greenly leaving the 600m.
 
SOLO MELODY – Raced wide without cover throughout. Bumped by another runner leaving the 600m.
 
Race 2: MACK GRANITE CLASS 3 PLATE – 1000M
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to afford M. Cahill, the rider of 2nd placegetter WUDANG BLADE, the opportunity to view the official photo finish print.
 
BONSHO – Reared as the gates were released, losing considerable ground.
 
GIRL IN A MILLION – Stewards accepted the explanation for the late scratching of the horse at 8:30 am.
 
AITHNE – Reared as the gates were released, momentarily unbalancing its rider.
 

 
Race 3: MACK TRIDENT C,G&E CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1350M
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to afford the connections of 4th placegetter TAPTHETILL, the opportunity to view the official photo finish print.
 
No racing incidents.
 
Race 4: MACK SUPERLINER F&M CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1350M
 
CUBAN SAGA – Shifted out marginally passing the 1200m and bumped another runner.
 
CASINO EVIL – Overraced in the early and middle stages and passing the 1200m was bumped by another runner.
 
Race 5: MACK TITAN MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M
 
The start was delayed slightly when FANX proved difficult to load.
 
NO SHENANIGANS – Fractious in the barriers. Shifted in shortly after the start, bumping another runner, and then raced three wide without cover throughout the event. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
ELECTRIC ANNA – Stewards accepted the explanation for the late declaration of R. Palmer as rider.
 
FLYNN EFFECT – Stood flat-footed as the start was effected, losing considerable ground. Connections were advised that a warning would now be placed on the gelding regarding its starting manners.
 
Race 6: MACK TRUCKS BRISBANE MAIDEN PLATE – 1666M
 
HARD EVIDENCE – Shifted out under pressure leaving the 500m, making contact with the hind quarters of SPUR ME PURPLE, before shifting in abruptly and hampering PRINCELY SUM.
 
I’M ANTMAN – Raced wide without cover in the early stages. When asked to explain the horse’s performance, L. Dittman said he had to do some work early when racing three wide and the horse closed the race off only fairly but in his view will be better suited in races of a further distance than that of today’s event.
 
PINCH SPIRIT – Jumped awkwardly.
 
SPUR ME PURPLE – Jumped awkwardly. Bumped on the hind quarters near the 500m.
 
TWICE ALONE – Hampered near the 1500m when TIZABEE shifted out away from SPUR ME PURPLE.
 
PRINCELY SUM – Hampered near the 1500m when overracing. Hampered near the 500m.
 
TIZABEE – Jumped awkwardly.
 
Race 7: CHANNEL 7 RATINGS BAND 0 – 60 H’CAP – 1500M
 
EL SHADAY – When questioned regarding the gelding’s performance, P. Hammersley stated that in his view the moderate tempo of the race should have suited the horse, however, although it was up in distance, the overall performance today was disappointing. Trainer K. Schweida indicated that it would be his intention to spell the horse.
 
THE REAL SPIEL – Jumped awkwardly.
 
WALTZ IN FLIGHT – Held up between the 500m and the 400m.
