Race 1: CARLTON MID Maiden Plate – 2200m
 
ODIN’S FOLLY – Slow to begin.
 
PROUD CAPTAIN – Began awkwardly and shifted out at the start.
 
PIPEMAJOR – Passing the 1600m shifted in and brushed the running rail.
 
PRINCE HUSSON – After passing the winning post on the first occasion commenced to overrace and got its head up when being restrained from heels. Approaching the 400m was bumped by PROUD CAPTAIN.
 
 
Race 2: SIRROMET Fillies & Mares Ratings Band 0-62 Handicap – 1200m
 
As R. Maloney failed to arrive on track in time to fulfil his engagement stewards permitted M. Cahill to be substituted as the rider of TEMUJIN’S MOON. Jockey Maloney was fined $100.
 
LOADED AND READY – Began awkwardly, made contact with the barrier partition and lost ground.
 
COONOWRIN RUBY – Raced three wide with cover in the early stages and commenced to hang out passing the 800m and raced four wide from that point on placing its rider at a disadvantage. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer G. Gatti was advised that the mare will need to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again.
DIAMONDS ON RUBY – After being unable to cross to the lead in the early stages was caught three wide and when attempting to obtain a position with cover was unable to do so and remained in a three wide position without cover. Passing the 400m commenced to weaken, finishing at the rear of the field. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
TEMUJIN’S MOON – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 3.
 
 
Race 3: WHITTINGTON @GRANDVIEW STUD Class 6 Handicap – 1350m
 
Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer C. Smith for the late declaration of M. Du Plessis as the rider of POTEMKIN.
 
LUCKY TOM – Reared slightly as the start was effected and lost some ground. Then ridden forward to obtain the lead passing the 1000m.
 
SKYTASTIC – Slow to begin.
 
POTEMKIN – Began awkwardly.
 
SUNNY VICTORY – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Upon return to the enclosure it was discovered that the tongue tie had become detached, which may have had some bearing on the gelding’s performance today.
 
 
Race 4: SCHWEPPES Maiden Handicap – 1100m
 
REMEMBER BELLA – Reared as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Approaching the 800m was steadied away from the heels of AMIRAT JAMILA, which shifted in.
 
ROCK GARDEN – Began awkwardly and shifted out at the start.
 
SIZZLING DIAMOND – Bumped and tightened on jumping.
 
OUR RED JET – Hampered on jumping.
 
ZOULOU DANCER – Commenced to weaken after passing the 400m. Raced three wide without cover throughout. When questioned regarding the performance jockey M. Cahill expressed his disappointment in the run today. He stated that the filly had performed quite well in its first run however today, even though caught wide without cover, in his opinion was very disappointing. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly had sustained minor lacerations to both hocks. Trainer G. Doughty advised that he would report to stewards should anything further come to light in the coming days.
 
 
 
 
Race 5: QUEENSLAND TIMES Class 1 Handicap – 800m
 
Trainer B. Dollman made application to have DREAM FIRST scratched from today’s event due to the track upgrade from a Good 4 to a Good 3. Stewards acceded to his request and subsequently declared DREAM FIRST a late scratching at 3.15 p.m.
MAN IN MOTION – Began awkwardly.
 
WALL STREET TYCOON – Held up rounding the home turn and then bumped THE BUMBLEBEE when attempting to shift out to improve in the early part of the home straight. Blundered passing the 250m. Had a tendency to lay out for the majority.
 
THE BUMBLEBEE – Raced three wide without cover throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly had been galloped on and sustained lacerations to the outside cannon of the off fore leg.
 
TOUJOURS L’AMOUR – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 6: GET SOCIAL @IPSWICHTURFCLUB C, G & E Ratings Band 0-62 Handicap – 1200m
 
AIRACOBRA – Fractious in the gates prior to the start being effected.
 
BRAD THE LAD – Began awkwardly. Passing the 700m improved onto the heels of OH BOY and had to be checked. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
SIR BAM – Began awkwardly and shortly after was slightly hampered when tightened for room. Passing the 800m when attempting to obtain cover commenced to overrace and had to be steadied off heels.
 
OH  BOY – Overraced in the early stages. Lost an off fore plate in running.
 
DOOM – Passing the 800m had to be steadied away from heels when overracing.
 
BACK CHAT – Laid in under pressure over the final 200m.
