SUPPLEMENTARY
 
From Doomben Meeting 3 November 2018 – Race 6
 
Trainer B. Currie reported that AMANAAT had pulled up with some lameness in its knee. Subsequent x-rays revealed bone chips. Mr Currie advised the horse will now have surgery and  be spelled for a significant period.
 
 
Race 1: BOOK YOUR XMAS PARTY BenchMark 65 Handicap – 800m
 
POETIC DRAGON – Slow to begin.
 
ARCHER’S TREASURE – Slow to muster speed. Passing the 500m had to be steadied away from heels.
 
DON’T PLAY AROUND – Began awkwardly. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
INKY BAY – Passing the 500m was awkwardly placed at the heels of DON’T PLAY AROUND.
 
ARDOYNE ROAD – Laid in under pressure over the final 200m.
 
 
Race 2: CARLTON MID Fillies & Mares Class 3 Plate – 1350m
 
LILAKAI – Began awkwardly.
 
WISDOM TREE – Slow into stride. Hung out passing the 500m.
 
AKAGE – Passing the 500m was forced wider on the track when WISDOM TREE hung out. Hung out for the remainder of the event.
 
BOOM BOOM EPIC – Hung in in the home straight.
 
 
Race 3: SIRROMET Fillies & Mares Maiden Handicap – 1350m
 
As S. Galloway was injured stewards permitted R. Wiggins to be substituted as the rider of LIPSTICK EFFECT.
 
The start was delayed when STAR BOOM which was fractious in the gates, was removed, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
 
STAR BOOM - Slow to begin. After passing the 400m commenced to weaken and finished a distant last.Trainer D. Jones was advised that in light of today’s performance the mare’s nomination would be refused at metropolitan meetings until such time that its performance improves at other  venues.
 
LIPSTICK EFFECT – Began awkwardly.
 
LADY CORDAY – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide in the early stages before obtaining cover passing the 800m.
 
STYLISH LOVER – Shifted in abruptly shortly after jumping.
 
MAILLOT JAUNE MOI – Hampered shortly after the start.
 
RABBIOSA – Shortly after the start shifted in and had to be checked.
 
PLAY NOW – Raced wide in the early stages before obtaining cover passing the 800m.
 
TIPONI – A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly had sustained lacerations to its near hind leg.
 
 
Race 4: SCHWEPPES Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Handicap – 1350m
 
The start was slightly delayed when both STAMEN and SUCCEEDANDCONQUER had to be resaddled behind the barriers.
 
ALUMINATI – Slow to begin. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
TAVERNE – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running shortly after straightening until a point passing the 200m.
 
THE FULL MONTY – Raced wide without cover and then hung out passing the 800m before weakening to finish a distant last. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer K. Schweida’s representative was advised that in light of today’s performance the gelding will be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again.
 
MISTER WARD – After passing the 500m commenced to weaken and finished towards the rear of the field. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer N. McCall was advised that in light of today’s performance the gelding would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again.
 
PLITVICE – Held up shortly after entering the straight. Near the 200m was accidentally struck over the head by the whip of R. Maloney (ONE MORE CAST) and then had to alter course back to the inside to obtain clear running passing the 150m.
 
KURIL FOX – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 5: WHITTINGTON @GRANDVIEW STUD Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 3 Plate – 1350m
 
RIDGWAY – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 6: QUEENSLAND TIMES BenchMark 75 Handicap – 1666m
 
Prior to correct weight stewards viewed the patrol footage to ascertain whether BAKER BOY had been denied a fair start. After viewing the footage it was deemed that as the gates opened simultaneously the gelding had stood flatfooted and therefore missed the start due to its own manners and was declared a starter. Trainer B. Andrew was advised that the gelding would require a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
 
LIKE A RULER – Began awkwardly.
 
MISHANI PHOENIX – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 7: RIVER 94.9FM Ratings Band 0-62 Handicap – 1666m
 
As App C. Frater-Hill was indisposed due to transport difficulties stewards permitted App M. Murphy to be substituted as the rider of INVINCIBOY.
 
TANGO YANKEE – Trainer C. Anderson advised the horse would be ridden with cover if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. When being restrained shifted out abruptly passing the 1400m.
 
FONDUE – Stood flatfooted as the start was effected and lost ground. Trainer M. Waddington will be advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s barrier manners.
 
THE EQUALIZER – Slow to begin.
 
VISONA PLAYBOOY – Slow to begin. Slightly inconvenienced over the final stages when THE BIG EATER laid in.
 
THE BIG EATER – Began awkwardly. Over the concluding stages commenced to lay in whilst being ridden under pressure.
 
INVINCIBOY – Began awkwardly.
 
WICCAN REDE – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
MYSTERIUM – Raced three wide without cover in the early stages.
 
ROTHFORD – Got its head up when being restrained making the first turn.
 
PENDIGO – Forced wider passing the 1400m.
 
Jockey M. Hellyer (RIVER BOY) was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out to the finish line.
 
 
Race 8: GET SOCIAL @IPSWICHCLUB BenchMark 65 Handicap – 1100m
 
The start was delayed when SAURIMO underwent a veterinary examination at the request of its rider, which found the gelding to be bleeding significantly from the near side knee. SAURIMO was subsequently declared a late scratching at 4.51 p.m. acting on veterinary advice. All monies invested on SAURIMO were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets place on the winner and placegetters prior to 4.51 p.m.:-

UNLIKELY STORY – Raced wide in the early stages before striding forward to obtain a position outside the leader passing the 800m.
 
WIRNPA – Laid in under pressure over the final 200m. Post race was found to have a laceration to its near fore pastern.
