GENERAL
 
As R. Maloney was indisposed due to illness, a riding replacement was made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: LEGACY CLUB OF IPSWICH QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 800M
 
CABALO ESCURO – Slow to begin.
 
QUART POT – Slow to begin. Hung out for the majority.
 
DARING BELLE – Slow to begin.
 
Following the running of this race the track was upgraded from a Soft 6 to a Soft 5.
 
Race 2: CLUB SERVICES IPSWICH MAIDEN PLATE – 1700M
 
MAJOR OAK – Slow to begin, and then further hampered when bumped by another runner.
 
PACIFIC CREST – Slightly slow to begin.
 
SPIRITUAL – Buffeted near the 1500m when racing in restricted room to the inside of LILIERO (R. Wiggins) which shifted in when not completely clear. Jockey Wiggins was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in the future.
 
OCTOBER JOY – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
VINNY VAVOOM – Raced 3 wide without cover before commencing to weaken passing the 600m and finishing a distance last. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no significant findings.
 
HOWITZER – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 3: MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID CLASS 2 H’CAP – 2200M
 
SCILAGO – Raced keenly in the early stages. Improved onto heels and had to be steadied near the 1300m.
 
DASHING SPECIAL – When questioned by Stewards regarding the disappointing performance, jockey L. Dittman advised that his mount travelled only fairly throughout the race and when asked to quicken from the 1000m it failed to respond to his riding and, in his opinion, proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting a poor post-race recovery. Trainer G. Moore advised that it is now his intention to send the horse for an immediate spell, and will trial the gelding prior to it resuming racing. He also advised that he will arrange for the horse to undergo a veterinary examination in the coming days, and undertook to advise Stewards should anything come to light which may explain the poor performance.
 
CHARLIE’S WORLD – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages and then, as a result of the slow early tempo, the gelding was ridden forward by its rider passing the winning post on the first occasion before obtaining a leading position near the 1500m. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
MOMENTUM TO WIN – Raced keenly in the early stages. Improved onto heels and had to be steadied near the 1300m.
 
WILLY BE LUCKY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
Race 4: ACTIVE BODY CONDITIONING MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M
 
MR AZRAY – Slow to begin.
 
TELECOM DANEWIN – Hung out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
HOSTWIN SUNLIGHT – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
DANSDALE – Began awkwardly.
 
COMPLIANCE – Began awkwardly. Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.
 
SIZZLING DIAMOND – Steadied from heels near the 200m.
 
CRUDE OIL – Raced ungenerously for a short distance whilst being restrained near the 700m. Bled from both nostrils. Trainer T. Green was advised that the horse will be ineligible to race for 3 months and prior to resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m in the presence of a Steward.
 
Race 5: CLIFT PEARCE ACCOUNTING CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1700M
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards permitted jockey L. Dittman, the rider of second placegetter DREAM SERENADE, to view the photo finish print for first. After viewing the print, jockey Dittman was satisfied with the judge’s numbers.
 
TIPONI – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in its off fore leg. Trainer D. Forster was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming racing.
 
MADAM LOVE – Attempted to shift out to secure clear running near the 400m however was prevented from doing so by TIPONI and, as a result, was held up for a short distance.
 
DREAM SERENADE – Laid in under pressure near the 100m and brushed CHICAGO NIGHTS.
 
DROPLET – Overraced in the early and middle stages and proved difficult to restrain. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
SAPPHIRE GIFT – Bumped heavily on jumping away.
 
ONSET – Jumped out abruptly at the start and made heavy contact with another runner.
 
DEE CEE DELIGHTS – Forced wider on the track by another runner near the 1100m and, as a result, raced wide without cover for the remainder. Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
MAGESTICAL MAIDEN – Knuckled shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
TYCOON PLAYER – Steadied from heels near the 1400m. Overraced in the middle stages.
 
YOUL BEATEM – Slow to begin.
 
Race 6: LEAROYD MINI DIGGERS FILLIES AND MARES BENCHMARK 62 H’CAP – 1350M
 
ZILITOR – After being caught wide in the early stages, the mare was restrained by its rider in an endeavour to obtain a position closer to the rail and, as a result, settled further back in the field than anticipated.

MELBERN QUEENS – When questioned by Stewards regarding the disappointing performance, Apprentice S. Thornton advised that her mount raced ungenerously and hung out from the 600m, and also failed to respond to her riding over the final 500m. Trainer S. O’Dea advised that he will discuss the horse’s immediate racing future with connections. Mr. O’Dea was advised that the horse must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming racing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
BALERION – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
HOLLY’S SONG – Bumped on jumping away.
 
KENDALL’S DREAM – Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 150m when runners to either side shifted ground.
 
THAT’S HER I THINK – Buffeted between runners on jumping away and lost ground. Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained near the 1000m. Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 150m when runners to either side shifted ground.
 
STELLAR JEWEL – Steadied to avoid heels near the 500m.
 
Race 7: IPSWICH RAILWAY RSL SUB BRANCH COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES BENCHMARK 62 – 1350M
 
THE IRONS – Jockey S. Bogenhuber was reminded of her obligation to ride her mount out to the conclusion of the race.
 
MY BELLY BUTTON – Slow to begin.
 
DESERT KNIGHT – Bumped on the hindquarters on jumping away and became unbalanced.
 
PHABENI – Knuckled on jumping away.
 
PHOENIX FLYER – Tightened for room at the start. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Apprentice M. Savva was reprimanded for using her whip on her horse when out of contention.
 
SUPER KIDS – Began awkwardly. Momentarily placed in restricted room and was eased near the 150m.
 
CONQUERING JUDAS – Tightened for room at the start. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
