Race 1: SEVEN FAMILY RACEDAY QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 800 M
 
Whilst proceeding to the barriers, BAD FOREST took charge of its rider and galloped a lap of the course. The gelding was subsequently declared a late scratching a 12:44pm. on declaration of correct weight stewards all monies invested on BAD FOREST to be refunded with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers:
 
1st: ENCRPTED ELEGANCE – 0c win 1c place
2nd: FIND YOUR OWN – 8c place
 
Trainer T. Sheehan was advised that BAD FOREST would be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to being permitted to race again.
 
TONATIUH – Raced greenly in the early stages. Approaching the 600m, shifted out and bumped SUNFYRE. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a mild abrasion to the off foreleg.
 
VIKING VALOUR - Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
HOT FLAMINGO - Slow to begin.
 
SUNFYRE - Bumped approaching the 600m.
 
 
Race 2: SCHWEPPES MAIDEN PLATE         1666 M
 
MISS RIBCHESTER – Slow to begin. Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside the leader approaching the 900m. Bumped and forced wider approaching the 500m. Gave ground over the final 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer J. Harris was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for poor performance.
 
STORM DREAMER - Laid in under pressure approaching the 200m and had to be corrected by its rider.
 
APFEL (NZ) – Bumped and forced wider approaching the 400m when ROSEFINCH shifted out resulting in rider M. Rodd becoming unbalanced and momentarily losing his nearside iron. Apprentice E. Lang, the rider of ROSEFINCH, was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) for this incident.
 
AUTUMN MISS – Laid out over the concluding stages.
 
CRIMSON BEAUTY – Slow to begin. Raced three wide until approaching the 1200m.
 
ROSEFINCH – Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up approaching the 400m and shifted out and bumped APFEL (NZ).
 
 
Race 3: RIVER 94.9FM QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP         1350 M
 
AGE OF AQUARIUS – Shifted in at the start.
 
I'M ZAC – Connections advised the gelding would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Bumped at the start. Over-raced in the early stages. Held up approaching the home turn. Laid in approaching the 150m and had to be corrected. When questioned regarding his riding of the gelding, in particular his reason for not shifting wider at the 600m which resulted in I’M ZAC being held up to the 250m, rider K. Matheson advised stewards that he gave consideration to shifting wider at the 600m however was mindful that I’M ZAC was having its first start at 1350m and did not want to expose the gelding that far from the finish. He added that approaching the 500m he attempted to shift wider however HERE’S TO POWER had covered his horse at that point and he was then held until approaching the 250m. Rider Matheson further added that in hindsight that he would have been better served to shift wider at the 600m before HERE’S TO POWER improved to his outside. Stewards in assessing the matter advised rider Matheson that he had erred in not shifting wider at the 600m to improve however could not be satisfied that his riding was at a standard culpable to take any further action.
 
MISHANI ECLIPSE – Steadied at the 100m.
 
LIVIN'DADREAM – Bumped at the start and lost ground.
 
STAPLETON – Steadied approaching the 1200m.
 
ALECIA – Laid in under pressure entering the home straight and became unbalanced when being corrected by its rider.
 
HERE'S TO POWER – Raced wide throughout.
 
NEO RAIDER – Shifted out under pressure approaching the 100m.
 
ROSE OF LIBERTY – Began awkwardly, shifted out, bumping with I’M ZAC and lost ground as a result.
 
VALLEY OF OWLS – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 4: IMPERIAL RACING BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP         2150 M
 
PRIME IMPACT – Carried in approaching the winning post by SIR ZINO. J. Bayliss, the rider of SIR ZINO, was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
SHEZADANDI – Raced three wide with cover from the 1000m.
 
NO MORE RED – Raced three wide with cover from the 1000m.
 
SKYLON (NZ) – Connections advised the gelding would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Made the crossing at the 1500m awkwardly.
 
BRINGME – Raced in restricted at the winning post on the first occasion and brushed with CLASSIQUE GIRL.
 
CLASSIQUE GAL – Raced in restricted room approaching the winning post on the first occasion.
 
SIR ZINO (NZ) – Made the crossing at the 1500m awkwardly. Rider J. Bayliss advised stewards in was not his intention to lead the event however after beginning well he elected to allow the gelding to stride forward rather than be caught wide.
 
IRIDESSA (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
BUMP'N'RUN – Connections advised the gelding would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Unable to muster early speed and as a result raced three wide throughout the event.
 
HELEVA DEEL– Raced in restricted room approaching the winning post on the first occasion. Held up approaching the home turn. Laid in under pressure in the home straight resulting in its rider having to stop and correct the gelding.
 
 
Race 5: TAB CLASS 6 HANDICAP       1100 M
 
BITCOIN BABY – Fractious before the start. Bumped at the start. Raced keenly in the early stages. Forced wider at the 700m when VETTA VELOCITA shifted out when over-racing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor abrasions to both hind legs.
 
ROLL UP – Bumped at the start.
 
I AM VOODOO – Shifted out at the start and bumped ROLL UP. Rider A. Mallyon advised that he was disappointed in the performance of the gelding however was of the opinion it may be better suited over further distances than that of today’s event.
 
VETTA VELOCITA – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Shifted out approaching the 700m when over-racing.
 
 
Race 6: SEVEN NEWS BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP         1666 M
 
TAMBOURINE MAN – Shifted out at the start.
 
DULCET (NZ) – Bumped at the start.
 
AROUND THE BUOY (NZ) – Shifted in at the start.
 
THE GOLDEN SOUL – Raced wide throughout.
 
AMADI (NZ) – Restrained at the start to obtain a position closer to the rail.
 
RED VICAR – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
ADELAIDE'S LACE – Shifted in leaving the 200m when awkwardly placed at the heels of DEAL AN ACE.
 
AU REVOIR - Connections advised the gelding would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
PLAIMONT (NZ) - Rider A. Mallyon advised that he was not entirely disappointed in the performance of the filly however was of the opinion it may be better suited over further distances than that of today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
ROCKED – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. Shifted out and was then bumped on the hindquarters leaving the 200m. Approaching the 50m improve onto heels and shifted outwards to secure clear running.
 
HOT BANANAS – Tightened for room and had to be steadied leaving the 200m when racing between ROCKED which shifted out under pressure and ADELAIDE’S LACE, which shifted in and away from DEAL AN ACE. M. Du Plessis, rider of ROCKED and K. Wilson-Taylor, rider of DEAL AN ACE, where both advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
THE SEEKER – Restrained at the start to obtain a position closer to the rail.
 
DEAL AN ACE – Raced three wide with cover from the 1300m. shifted in under pressure leaving the 200m.
 
SAYS WHO – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 7: TAB IPSWICH CUP 22 JUNE CLASS 1 HANDICAP         1200 M
 
ADRANOS – Bumped at the start. Raced in restricted room approaching the 800m.
 
BLOODHAWKE – Shifted in at the start and bumped ADRANOS. Raced wide throughout.
 
DAYU – Bumped at the start. Laid out rounding the home turn. Improved onto heels approaching the 150m and obliged to alter course outwards to secure clear running.
 
WAHINE GALAXY – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped DAYU. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
