QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT JUNDAH RACE CLUB Inc JUNDAH – SATURDAY 30th SEPTEMBER 2023 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Dirt RAIL – TruePENETROMETER – N/A OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – G. Brassington Race 1: HILLY MAUNSELL MEMORIAL QTIS Maiden Plate (1000 metres) YOU BETTER BET – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. HOT CHOCOLATE – Raced wide for the majority and laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 2: BRAIDWOOD Class B Handicap (1000 metres) BEN STARS – Dipped on jumping and shortly after shifted in and bumped DACXI BUBBLES. COLONEL VON TRAP – Slipped on jumping. IMPENDING RAIN – Slow into stride and raced wide throughout. MACFARLANE – Very slow into stride and showed no speed throughout. Rider reported needs to race over much longer ground to be competitive. DACXI BUBBLES – Was tightened for room shortly after the start between HEAVEN BLESS and BEN STARS. HEAVEN BLESS – On entering the barriers was unruly resulting in jockey John Rudd being dislodged, jockey Rudd immediately remounted and took his place in the field,shortly after the start shifted out and bumped DACXI BUBBLES. PURPLE SONG – Raced very wide around the home turn. READY AND WAITING – Slow into stride and laid out in the home straight. Race 3: RAMSAY PASTORAL COMPANY BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1200 metres) COLHOUN – Slow into stride and raced wide throughout. HALLSIDE HOT STUFF – Dropped out from the 500 metres and the rider reported that HALLSIDE HOT STUFF failed to handle the track. ZOROSSA – Slow to jump and bumped with PORTABELLE at the start, laid in under pressure in the home straight. PORTABELLE – Slow to jump and bumped with ZOROSSA at the start. Raced wide throughout. Race 4: BARCOO SHIRE CUP OPENHandicap (1400 metres) TYCOON ZIP – Slow to begin and raced wide in the early and middle stages, rider dropped her whip approaching the 400 metres. MUSIC AWARD – Jumped out abruptly at the start, rider reported lugged out throughout and was unable to ride MUSIC AWARD out fully over the concluding stages. MORICONI – On entering the barriers was unruly resulting in jockey Brooke Richardson being dislodged, jockey Richardson immediately remounted and took her place in the field. Jockey Brooke Richardson pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR131(c) for making a celebratory gesture prior to the finish line, jockey Richardson was fined $100. In determining an appropriate penalty Stewards were mindful it was jockey Richardson’s first offence under this rule. SHARPAY RULER – Slow into stride. POLICE – Slow to begin and raced wide throughout. Race 5: SNOW & MARY HALL MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 Handicap (1800 metres) GYPSY BIKER – Going around the turn out of the home straight was pushed out wide by MONDIAL EXPRESS, then raced wide for the remainder. RANGI TOA – Began awkwardly. TELL THE WORLD– Going around the turn out of the home straight was pushed out wide by SIZZLESUN, then raced wide in the middle stages. SHUT IT DOWN – Apprentice jockey Emily Pomfrett pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 1 more than permitted. Jockey Pomfrett was issued with a reprimand. MONDIAL EXPRESS – Going around the turn out of the home straight was pushed out wide by AKHURST, MONDIAL EXPRESS has then forced GYPSY BIKER very wide on the track. AKHURST – Going around the first turn shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider forcing MONDIAL EXPRESS and GYPSY BIKER extremely wide on the track. SIZZLESUN – Rider reported his saddle slipped going around the turn out of the home straight resulting in taking the turn awkwardly and forcing TELL THE WORLD wider on the track.
