When questioned regarding if there was an opportunity to improve his position between ROOTS ‘N’ ROCKS and GLAM ROCK (NZL) shortly after straightening, rider J Murphy stated that when that run had presented itself, he positioned his mount to obtain it. He added that when attempting to take the run, GLAM ROCK (NZL) started to hang in which placed his mount in an awkward position and rather than place his mount in restricted room, he elected to steady his mount to give WINNINGTON an uninterrupted run in the straight. Stewards noted his explanation.
