GENERAL
As Jockey L Miller and Apprentice Jockey S McCann were unable to fulfill their riding engagements at today`s meeting due to acceptable reasons, replacements were made as per the Stewards Summary.
 
Race 1: LADBROKES SAME RACE MULTI BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 800 Metres
BOSTON CITY – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running when rounding the home turn.
CHEVAL DE COURSE – Reared and lost ground on jumping.
RISING SPIRIT – Slow to begin and bumped at the start when THE WAITING MAN shifted in.
THE WAITING MAN – Began awkwardly shifted in and bumped RISING SPIRIT. Raced wide throughout.
LIVELY LASS – As Apprentice S McCann was indisposed, she was replaced by Jockey C Bayliss. As no apprentice was available to ride the mare, permission was granted to Jockey Bayliss to ride 1kg overweight.
 
 
Race 2: KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1500 Metres
ELIZANO – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
SOOBPURB DANCER – Slow to begin. Apprentice B Moffat reported that his mount would benefit from a step up in distance.
CASH ARTIST – Over-raced during the early stages and laid in from the 600m.
BIE'RES – Inclined to lay out for the majority of the event.
RYE DEE OH – Blundered on jumping.
AMISFIELD – Tightened for room shortly after the start. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
BIRKIN BLACK – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 3: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS AUSTRALIA DAY CUP BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200 Metres
MR VISTA – Placed in restricted room and had to be steadied to avoid the heels of SUBSTITUTION, which shifted in when not sufficiently clear near the 900m. Apprentice S Champkin, the rider of SUBSITUION, was reprimanded for shifting ground when not sufficiently clear. Raced wide throughout.
HEART OF MARBLE – Forced wider and inconvenienced over the concluding stages when ARQUERA shifted ground.
WITCH DAY – Slowly into stride. Forced wider over the concluding stages.
ARQUERA - Inconvenienced and forced wider near the 100m and forced to shift wider over the concluding stages when MR BROSE shifted out when not clear and continued to shift out under pressure. Apprentice C Krahnen, the rider of MR BROSE, was reprimanded for shifting ground when not clear and making insufficient to straighten when shifting ground.
 
Race 4: SEARLES GARDEN PRODUCTS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 2-Y-O & Up. Set Weights 1100 Metres
WORTHY ESSGEE – Raced wide throughout.
ASHMOLEAN – Slow to begin. Hung out when rounding the home turn. Rider Apprentice S Champkin dropped her whip near the 150m.
GAZZA'S DIAMOND – Slowly into stride.
CACTUS CAN – Declared a late scratching at 8:14am. Co Trainer C Geran was subsequently reprimanded under LR 68(1) for failing to scratch by the prescribed time.
ISLE OF BOOTY – Steadied from heels near the 1000m.
WALLY'S REVENGE – Slow to begin. Hung out from the 800m until leaving the 600m.
THE DEVASTATOR – Raced wide throughout.

Race 5: SOMERSET REGIONAL COUNCIL / KILCOY GLOBAL FOODS BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1100 Metres
LICENCED AND READY – Steadied from heels leaving the 800m. Apprentice A Donald reported that her mount hung out when passing the 600m.
RHAPALONG – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.
CRAIGLEA ETNA – Slow to begin.
MY MOSES – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.
FORT MYER – Hung in from the 900m until leaving the 700m and raced in restricted room to the inside of MASTERPLAN for a short distance near the 850m.
CRAIGLEA LAKI – Checked when tightened for room leaving the 800m when racing to the inside of ROTHERO ESSGEE. Stewards inquired into this incident and found that at that point of the event, CRAIGLEA LAKI was tightened for room when ROTHERO ESSGEE shifted in after being tightened for room when racing to the inside of FORT MYER, which hung in despite the efforts of its rider.
