Race 1: CLASS B HDCP 900 Metres

REJUVENATE – slow to begin. Raced greenly in the early and middle stages of the event and approaching the 700 metres shifted out abruptly and lost ground.

ANXPENSE – laid out rounding the home turn.

LAKE ARGYLE – as had not started in over 12 months underwent a pre-race vet inspection and cleared to run.  After being loaded into the barriers became fractious, examined by the Club Vet and passed fit to start.

COURT RULES – raced wide for the majority of the event.

KAKADU PLUM – had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight.

ENCORE SALL – rounding the home turn, improved onto heels and obliged to shift to the inside to obtain clear running.

HIDDEN ANGEL – made the home awkwardly and shifted wider on the track.

KAPACHINO MISS – blundered on jumping away and lost ground.

Race 2: MAIDEN PLATE 1000 Metres

DANISH DICTION – slow to begin.  Rider reported at scale the saddle slipped near the 500 metres placing her at some disadvantage for the remainder of the event.

KAWANA VIVA – fractious in the barriers.  Slow to begin.  When questioned regarding the performance, rider N Evans stated the mare never travelled at any stage in the event and was disappointing.  A post race veterinary examination of KAWANA VIVA failed to reveal any abnormality.

LA MASCARA – made the home turn awkwardly.  Rider G Geran reported at scale the mare had a tendency to hang out for the majority of the event and proved difficult to ride out in the home straight.  A post race veterinary examination of LA MASCARA failed to reveal any abnormality.  Trainer R Lipp was advised a warning would be placed on the mare for hanging out.

CRAIGLEA ANNIE – shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

CRAIGLEA MARIAH - raced wide throughout.

Race 3: CLASS 1 HDCP 1200 Metres

CRAIGLEA DEKEN – rider P Hamblin was reprimanded under AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100 metres.  In assessing penalty Stewards took into account P Hamblin's overall good record and totality of use throughout the race.

SUN WILL SHINE – raced wide for the majority of the event.

ENDLESS PUZZLE – began awkwardly and lost ground.

FORT MEYER – declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2:10 pm after the gelding injured itself in the wash bay.  As betting had not commenced on this race, no deductions were applicable.  Trainer S Pedron advised stewards it would be his intention to spell FORT MYER.  Acting on this undertaking, Stewards took no further action.
