There was a slight delay to the start of the first race awaiting veterinary officials to arrive on course.


 
Race 1: LJC PATRON KATE DEAN CLASS 6 PLATE - 1600 metres
 
 
NO REFUND – Slow to begin. Jockey R McMahon was reprimanded for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m under AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
LIVE & FREE – Travelled wide in the early and middle stages.
 
NECESSITAS – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
SIZZLESUN – Upon returning to scale jockey B. Richardson stated the gelding felt sore and was reluctant to stretch out in the latter stages. A post race veterinary inspection revealed no major abnormalities.
 
 
Race 2: OUR LADY’S P&C ASSOCIATION CLASS 3 PLATE - 1400 metres 
 
 
NO INUENDO – Contacted at the start. Jockey R. Tilley was reprimanded for using the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m under AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
GOD’S PENNY – Travelleded wide in the early stages.
 
ROSAIRE – Jumped inwards contacting an inside runner.
 
WON CAPILANO – Travelled wide for much of the race.
 
INFORMER – Caught 4 deep in the early stages before striding forward to maintain a position 3 off the rail for much of the race.
 
 
Race 3: LONGREACH TAVERN QTIS CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1200 metres  
 
 
P. Hamblin was the rider of I AM BOLT and permitted by stewards to ride 2kg overweight.
 
D. Rewald was the rider of NICKSY BOY and permitted to ride 1kg overweight.
 
BLADE MAN – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
ANOTHER TOSSER – Lay out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
KARBORS – Jumped inwards contacting an inside runner, then eased off heels shortly after the start.
 
LADY FEY – Travelled wide with cover.
 
NICKSY BOY – Travelled wide for much of the race.
 
PARA PARK – Contacted at the start.
 
SHEMADEMEDOIT – Slow to begin and travelled wide for much of the race.
 
 
Race 4: LONGREACH TAVERN 2022 BATTLE OF THE BUSH LONGREACH QUALIFER OPEN PLATE - 1100 metres  
 
AHWAHNEECHEE – Brushes with FULLY MAXED shortly after the start, travelled wide for much of the race.
 
FULLY MAXED – Travelled wide for much of the race.
 
I WANNA BE A JEEP – Lay in down the home straight.
 
ZUKAZ – Slow to begin and travelled wide in the early and middle stages.
 
ACEPLAY – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
JARHEAD – Reared leaving the gates losing ground.
 
KALMAR – Awkward to begin.
 
ZILITOR – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 5: KENT CONSTRUCTION BM 45 HANDICAP - 1000 metres      
 
 
ALLELUIA – Jumped away awkwardly unbalancing jockey T. Leslight. The gelding then resented being restrained throwing his head in the air on several occasions before settling into stride.
 
BOUND TO ME – Jumped away awkwardly and slow, losing ground.
 
ALGEROBA – Travelled wide for much of the race.
 
NITT WHITT – Lay in down the home straight proving difficult to ride out.
 
LOVE YOU Linda – Travelled wide for much of the race.
