GENERAL
Stewards permitted jockey’s J. Missen, M. Barnham and D. Rewald to ride overweight at today’s meeting due to unforseen circumstances.


 
Race 1: KERRI PINNA MEMORIAL CLASS B HANDICAP - 1000 metres
 
There was a  delay to the start of the first race, awaiting HYPE WIRE to be recaptured after becoming loose from his tie up stall.
 
NITT WHITT was a late scratching at 12:13pm on veterinary advice with the gelding presenting with lameness in the right fore. Trainer P. O’Toole was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding racing again. Deductions were announced with correct weight, with all monies invested on NITT WHITT refunded and 29 cents in the face value of the win bet and 27 cents in the face value of the place bet.
 
ROYO – Jumped inwards contacting REBEL WOWZER.
 
PINNAROO – Slow to begin and slow into stride then travelled wide from the 600m to gain clear running.
 
REBEL WOWZER – Contacted at the start then had to be restrained off heels near the 550m when racing in restricted room.
 
SILVAPLANA – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
HOT CHOCOLATE – Laid in down the home straight.
 
 
Race 2: LONGREACH REFIRGERATION & AIR CONDITIONING BM 65 HANDICAP - 1000 metres 
 
 
SHIGERU MAHOGANY – Travelled wide for much of the race.
 
LADY YENDOR – Stumbled out of the gates after having a back leg on the barrier stall as the start was effected losing considerable ground, then travelled wide and ungenerously for much of the race.
 
FLASH FIBIAN – Fractious prior to jumping.
 
 
Race 3: COL ANDERSON & LAURIE EISENTRAGER MEMORIAL BM 55 HANDICAP - 1200 metres  
 
 
SOLE HEIR – Travelled wide in the early stages before being eased to gain a position closer to the rail.
 
WHY WOULD’T YOU – Travelled wide in the early stages.
 
MUSIC AWARD – Over raced in the early stages.
 
HARD CURRENCY – Travelled wide in the early stages.
 
PURPLE TRUMPET – Lay in down the home straight.
 
AMADEO – Shifted wider near the 600m to gain clear running. Jockey J. Rudd was suspended for 7 days for using the whip on 17 occasions during the running of the race under AR132(5). Suspension from Mignight 25th June 2022 to Midnight 2nd July 2022.
 
 
Race 4: GORDON ‘POPEYE’ SAUNDERS MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1300 metres  
 
OUR YOUND MAN underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection after racing on 16th June 2022 and was passed fit to race.
 
HYPE WIRE underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection after becoming loose from the tie up stall and passed fit to race.
 
R. Faehr was the rider of HYPE WIRE as R. McMahon was unable to ride the allotted weight and had not accepted the ride.
 
MATAGORDA – Laid in down the home straight when placed under pressure.
 
ZOROSSA – Reared prior to jumping.
 
HYPE WIRE – Jumped away awkwardly and headed abruptly to the inside rail and had to be restrained momentarily. Raced ungenerously throughout.
 
MISHANI DIVA – Stood flat footed losing considerable ground. Jockey B. Richardson stating she had requested a tail hold for the filly which had not been carried out correctly.
 
 
Race 5: BIRDCAGE SPRINT OPEN PLATE - 1300 metres 
 
LIVE AND FREE – Slow to begin and slow into stride.
 
BURDEN – Travelled wide for much of the race with cover.
 
CHAMBERLAIN – Travelled wide for much of the race.
 
 
Race 6: SHELL LONGREACH BM 60 HANDICAP - 1600 metres 
 
Jockey B. Richardson was replaced on PAST TENSE with R. McMahon, due to safety concerns regarding the saddle rolling with the extra packing to get to the high allotted weight.
 
SIZZLESUN underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection after racing on 16th June 2022 and was passed fit to race.
 
FROZE – Jumped outwards contacting and outside runner.
 
PAST TENSE – Travelled wide for much of the race. Jockey R. McMahon was fined the sum of $200 for using the whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100m under AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
GOD’S PENNY – Buffeted between runners on jumping, losing ground.
 
SIZZLESUN – Jumped away awkwardly contacting GOD’S PENNY, then travelled wide in the early and middle stages.
 
MRS SENNA – Jumped away awkwardly.
