QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT LAURA AMATEUR TURF CLUB SATURDAY 29 JUNE 2024 WEATHER – OVERCAST TRACK RATING – GOOD (3) RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – P. Gillard Stewards – S. Copelin, P. Lane, A. Holzhauser (Cadet) Race 1: LAURA 10,000 QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE – 1000 Metres SATURDAY VIBES – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure near the 50 metres having to be corrected. FIVE BULLS – Shifted wider for a short distance near the 600 metres. Race 2: PATRON BILL WARE BM50 HANDICAP (2) – 1200 Metres NELLYATION – Began awkwardly. AUGUSTA REVOLUTION – Laid in in for short distance leaving the 400 metres. Race 3: LAURA BRACELET BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP (1) – 1200 Metres BELLA'S IN COMMAND – As jockey A. Thomson was unable to ride at today’s meeting stewards permitted N. Day who was the only available rider, to ride the mare 0.5kg over its allocated weight. BORLOTTI BEANS – Began awkwardly. Race 4: PIONEER CUP CLASS 6 HANDICAP – 1200 Metres ALWAYS WRITTEN OFF – Due to no other rider being available and a request from trainer A. Malliff,jockey N. Day was permitted to ride the gelding 1kg over its allocated weight. Shied on pulling up dislodging jockey N. Day who was examined by the QAS officers and cleared to fulfil his further engagement. SOUTH PARADE (NZ) – Began awkwardly and lost ground. STRATEGIST – Laid in under pressure near the 50 metres having to be corrected. SPILL THE TEARS – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 5: LAURA CUP WEIGHT FOR AGE – 1450 Metres HEALING GAME – Shifted out at the start placing FORGIATO in restricted room. Shifted out to improve approaching the 800 metres however was unable to do so. CHOIR BOY – Shifted in on jumping bumping FORGIATO. FORGIATO (NZ) – Bumped on jumping. Rider M. Abe pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR 131(c) in that he made a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post and was fined the sum of $200.00.
