Race 6: CENTRAL TYRE SERVICES FNQ/WATTO'S EARTHMOVING
MM/ROB KOCH MEM/FNQ UP&C STAYERS BENCHMARK 60 HCP – 1680 Metres
 
Jockey A. Thomson (CRAIGLEA SIMMO) was fined $200 for use of the whip prior to the 100m which was 8 times, being 3 more than is permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii)
 
GENERAL
Due to general wear and tear from yesterday’s race meeting the track was downgraded, to be rated a soft (5) for todays program.
 
The following horses which competed at yesterday’s meeting all underwent a veterinary examination and were cleared to race.
 
Race 3 – Diamond Country
 
Race 5 – Combattant De Rue
 
Race 1: L.D. LUCEY MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE (SPONSORED BY LUCEY
FAMILIES) (1) – 1000 Metres
 
MIDNIGHT RAIDER – Declared a late scratching by order stewards acting on veterinary advice at 1.00pm after taking fright and bumping into the starters vehicle behind the barriers. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on MIDNIGHT RAIDER were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 4 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets and 5 cents in the dollar on the face value of all place bets to be applicable on bets made prior to 1.00pm.
 
SUNNY EKCELS – Began awkwardly.
 
PAPARAZZI ROCKET – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
DENISE'S PRIDE – Shifted out marginally near the 100 metres brushing OLDTIME ROCK’NROLL which shifted in marginally, and as a result shifted out making heavy contact with that runner before being corrected.

OLDTIMEROCK'N'ROLL – Shifted in near the 100 metres brushing DENISE’S PRIDE which as a result shifted out making heavy contact and momentarily became
unbalanced. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
DIGITAL ALIEN – Rider M. Abe was reminded of his obligations in regards to his use of the whip on a horse out of contention.

Race 2: L.D. LUCEY MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE (SPONSORED BY LUCEY
FAMILIES) (2) – 1000 Metres
 
MERSEY GIRL – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
ALWAYS THE LADY – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping NAYZIAIR.
 
NAYZIAIR – Bumped on jumping.
 
LITTLE RED PEPPER – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
FAST GIRL – Shifted in shortly after the start tightening LITTLE RED PEPPER and lost ground when being corrected. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

YABULU PRINCESS – Raced greenly shortly after the start for a short distance.

Race 3: RACING QUEENSLAND / HIGH COUNTRY PASTORAL QTIS 2YO & 3YO
MAIDEN PLATE – 1200 Metres
 
SPARKLY STAR – Began awkwardly, bumped on jumping and lost ground.
 
MACEDON FLYER – Fractious in the barriers and began awkwardly shifting out bumping SPARKLY STAR.

ACTON SHALE – Raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 800 metres throwing its head in the air.

TOY BOY – Rider B. Thomson momentarily lost the use of her reigns near the 150 metres when her whip became entangled in its mane.

RIGEL – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
HARRY ROCKET – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 4: RAVENSHOE TIMBERS CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200 Metres
 
Correct weight was delayed to afford all relevant parties the opportunity to view the official photo finish print. After doing so, stewards declared correct weight on the judges numbers.

3rd – Dream Halo
4th – Masared
 
DANGERFIELD – Slow to begin.
 
MASARED – Shifted out shortly after the start bumping CAPTIVATED and again near the 700 metres.
 
CAPTIVATED – Over-raced in the middle stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Jockey S. Sheargold was reprimanded for the excessive use of his whip in the home straight being 16 times which is two more than is permitted. AR132(5)

DREAM HALO – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 5: COUNTRY MILE HELICOPTERS RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 HANDICAP – 1350

RIGHT BOWER – Slow to begin.
 
FIRST SLIP – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BATTLE MOUNTAIN – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
RAMBLIN' MAN – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 6: DUFFY'S FURNITURE/BEDRUS - CLONCURRY MUSTERING COMPANY
BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1350 Metres
 
STAR INES – Slow to begin. Shifted out around the heels of TODWICK near the 150 metres bumping COASTAL BOY which shifted in slightly, resulting in HOT TOP which was following to be restrained.
 
COASTAL BOY – Shifted in and bumped by STAR INES  leaving the 200 metres. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

WHITTERICK – Wide early stages. Was stuck across the head by the whip of another runner near the 200 metres.
 
FORGIATO (NZ) – Wide early stages. Laid in near the 200 metres placing YARRALINDA and PONDOROSO in restricted room for some distance. Rider M. Abe was dislodged after passing the winning post when his off side stirrup leather broke. Declared himself free of any injury.  
 
YARRALINDA – Raced in restricted room leaving the 200 metres and was unable to obtain clear running in the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
PONDEROSO – Raced in restricted room leaving the 200 metres and was unable to obtain clear running in the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested.

TODWICK – Laid in under pressure near the 150 metres.
 
HOT TOP – Restrained near the 150 metres.
 
OWN SWEET WAY (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 7: NORWELD AUSTRALIA MT GARNET CASHMERE CUP OPEN HANDICAP – 1800 Metres
 
SALSA DREAMING – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Restrained when the pace slackened in the middle stages.
 
PLAY ME NOW (NZ) – Buffeted between runners soon after the start. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Restrained when the pace slackened in the middle stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

POETIC ATTACKS – Raced wide in the middle stages. Restrained when the pace slackened near the 1100 metres.
 
BORN TO SUCCEED – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
GAELIC – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
LOVE ON SUNDAY – Jockey S. Wilson was cautioned for a celebratory gesture prior to winning post.
