Race 7: OPEN HANDICAP – 1500 Metres
 
LOVE ON SUNDAY – Trainer A. Malliff advised stewards that the gelding upon returning to its stable had been under light work early in the week pending further veterinary examinations and the results of a blood test which all proved to be free of any abnormalities and as such he would continue with its preparation. Mr Malliff was advised that should LOVE ON SUNDAY’S form continue to prove inconsistent, further action may be taken under the specifics of LR. 25.    
 
GENERAL
The following overweight permitted:]
Race 5, Heavenly Hillie – App L. Guernier + 1kg
 
Race 1:BLENNERS TPT/RAVENSHOE RURAL BOB ATKINSON MEMORIAL
BRACELET BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1000 Metres
 
LAST ROYAL – Began awkwardly. Laid in approaching the 50 metres before being corrected.  
 
MIDAS STAR – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.     
 
Race 2: PURE COUNTRY / ELDERS GUNNAWARRA SHIELD CLASS 4
HANDICAP – 1200 Metres
 
DOMINANT ROSE – Began awkwardly and shifted out making contact with its outside barrier gate causing jockey L. Morrison to become unbalanced and lose her off-side iron for a short distance before regaining it.
 
FERUS – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Became unbalanced shortly after the start and put in an awkward stride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.  
 
Race 3: 4X4 FNQ / SMITH BROTHERS TRANSPORT 2024 BATTLE OF THE
BUSH MT GARNET QUALIFER OPEN PLATE – 1200 Metres
 
The start of this race was delayed significantly when the keys to the ambulance vehicle became locked in the car.  
 
BONYTHON – Shifted out on jumping bumping TIGER LEGEND.

TIGER LEGEND – Bumped on jumping.

ENTREPRENEURIAL – Raced wide for the majority of the race.  
 
Race 4: CENTRAL TYRE SERVICE FNQ / SHANE KNUTH MP QTIS MAIDEN
PLATE – 1350 Metres
 
TYCOON GRACE – Was declared a late scratching at 2.20pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice when found to be lame in the off-front shoulder. As betting had not commenced no deductions were applicable. Trainer A. Malliff was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to it trialing or racing again.  
 
PRIDEOFTHEBIGFISH – Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Trainer John Manzelmann was advised a warning would be placed on its barrier manners. Raced wide without cover for the majority of race.
 
RUBIVILLE – Slow to begin.   

SNUGGLE BANG YAHOO – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 5: PICCONES IGA/ROC'S STOCKFEED MM/ROB KOCH MEM/FNQ U&C
 STAYERS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1680 Metres
 
HEAVENLY HILLIE – Due to no other suitable rider being available stewards permitted apprentice L. Guernier to ride the gelding 1kg overweight which is her nominated riding weight.
 
BATTALION(NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced wide for the majority of the race. When questioned on its performance today rider I. Teh advised stewards, she was of the opinion the gelding failed to back up from its previous run at Townsville 30th April 2024. Trainer S. Seymour agreed with Ms Teh’s assessment.
 
MEDAL – Laid out rounding the turn out of the straight on the first occasion.
 
LAST NOT LEAST – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
MODERN LEGEND – Shifted wider to improve leaving the 1000 metres and raced wide from that point onwards.
