QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT MOUNT GARNET AMATEUR TURF CLUB SATURDAY 4 MAY 2024 WEATHER – OVERCAST TRACK RATING – SOFT (5) RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – S. CopelinStewards – P. Gillard, A. Holzhauser General:The following runners, Lucky Rolla, Kinjina and It’s A Ploy which had not started for an extended period all underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and were cleared to start. Race 1: WONGABEL QUARRIES N CONCRETE/BOLWARRA ENTERPRISES CLASS B HANDICAP – 1000 Metres REVVED UP READY – Declared a late scratching at 12.42pm by order of stewards when it refused to load. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on REVVED UP READY were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 19 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets and 16 cents in the dollar on the face value of all place bets to be applicable on bets made prior to 12.42pm. Trainer Ms Royes was advised that the gelding must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to being permitted to race again. WHITTY'S DREAM – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority. KITEMA – Restrained near the 600 metres when awkwardly placed at heels. AUGUSTA REVOLUTION – Restrained off heels near the 500 metres. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. AUTUMN BLOOM – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.TANOSHI – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Race 2:L.D. LUCEY MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE (SPONSORED BY LUCEY FAMILIES) – 1000 Metres FLY WITH YOU – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start and began awkwardly. LUCKY ROLLA – Was not directly impeded by the barrier gates when they swung back after being released. This was brought to the attention of the starter. Kicked out with its off-hind leg as the start effected and lost ground.Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.BLOOMIN' RIPPER – Was not directly impeded the barrier gates when they swung back after being released. This was brought to the attention of the starter. BOGAN PRINCESS – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping JET STREAM. JET STREAM – Bumped on jumping.Race 3: CLONCURRY MUSTERING CMC / STOCKLICK TRADING CLASS 6 PLATE – 1000 Metres HOKOLESQUA– After competing at yesterday’s meeting the gelding underwent a pre-race veterinary examination prior to the race and on arrival at the barrier and was cleared to start.Inconvenienced on jumping and lost ground.Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race. MISHANI MYSTIQUE – Fractious in the barrier prior to the start, began awkwardly and shifted out inconveniencing HOKOLESQUA which inturn shifted bumping ALWAYS WRITTEN OFF. DON'T TELL LEEANNE – Slow to begin. ALWAYS WRITTEN OFF – Bumped on jumping. POMADE – Shifted ground in the home straight under pressure. Jockey S. Sheargold was advised to exercise greater care. CARESSING RUPERT – Stewards considered an objection lodged by L. Morrison the rider of CARESSING RUPERT which finished 3rd against POMADE (S. Sheargold) being declared 2nd on the grounds of interference from leaving the 200 metres and again leaving the 100 metres. The stewards were of the opinion that the degree of interference suffered by CARESSING RUPERT did not exceed the margin between the two horses at the finish and therefore they dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the judges semaphored numbers. Race 4: KEVIN MCDONALD MEMORIAL CLASS 1 HANDICAP (SPONSORED BYMT GARNET ATC) – 1200 Metres MISHANI LIGHT – Began awkwardly and shifted out becoming awkward on heels having to be restrained and lost ground. PRESSURE AND TIME – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race. Race 5: RAVENSHOE TIMBERS PTY LTD RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 HANDICAP – 1350 Metres MADONNACAN'TSING – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race. Race 6: DUFFYS FURNITURE COURT BEDS R US ATHERTON / SILVERBACK UTE TRAYS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1350 Metres LADY OF FORTUNE – Slow to begin. MT PETER MISS – Slow into stride.I SAY BOOM – Stewards considered an objection lodged by jockey L. Morrison, the rider of I SAY BOOM which finished 4th against WITNESS ATTACK (S. Sheargold) being declared 3rd and LADY OF FORTUNE (App T. Leslight) which was placed 2nd, on the grounds of interference leaving the 200 metres and again leaving the 100 metres. The stewards could not be satisfied that WITNESS ATTACK (S. Sheargold) contributed any interference in this incident and whilst LADY OF FORTUNE (App T. Leslight) had shifted in, did not go inside of a three wide line and made no contact with I SAY BOOM when that runner was restrained, and therefore they dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the judge’s semaphored numbers. Race 7: NORWELD AUSTRALIA MT GARNET CASHMERE CUP OPEN HANDICAP – 1800 Metres The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the protest hearing in Race 6. LE VIZIR – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. VIVENZO – Steadied shortly after the start when crowded for room by OLYMPIC KORCHNOI which shifted in. Jockey L. Morrison pleaded guilty to a charge under AR. 132(7)(a)(ii) in that she breached the rule however stewards were of the opinion that her strikes prior to the 100 metres was 10 and totality being 16 strikes. Ms Morrison’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 11 May 2024 and expire midnight 21 May 2024. Ms Morrison was advised of her appeal rights. OLYMPIC KORCHNOI (BRZ) – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
