QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT MORANBAH RACE CLUB INC 25th MARCH 2023 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Dirt RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Gary MeekStewards – Hayden GillettClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – Mr Michael ShieldsVeterinarian – Dr Caitlyn MittelstadtStarter – Mr Larry Lewis GENERALTrainers John Heelan and Laurie Clem were reprimanded under the provisions of AR251 for being in possession of an instrument that could be used for administering a prohibited substance (sauce bottle). Race 1: THE COMMUNITY WORKERS CLUB CLASS B HANDICAP 1400M LENNY ROCKET – began awkwardly. WHISKEY ROW – at the start was struck by the gate that bounced back. DOUBLE OH SEVEN – began awkwardly as a result was slow into stride, approaching the 1300 metres had to be steadied when SIZZLING RIVER shifted in abruptly, near the 1200 metres shifted out wide to avoid the kickback. Apprentice Savannah McCann was issued a severe reprimand under the terms of AR131(a) for shifting ground when not clear to do so.SIZZLING RIVER – approaching the 1300 metres ducked in abruptly when shifting to the inside rail causing DOUBLE OH SEVEN to be steadied. Race 2: HAHNLEC RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP 1170M QUEENSLANDER – fractious prior to the start, began awkwardly and jumped outwards, in the home straight laid in under pressure. MISS MIRACULOUS – raced three wide in the early and middle stages. WREN PLUCKED – began awkwardly and raced wide throughout. Race 3: MINING & ENERGY UNION OPEN PLATE 1170M SPLASHER – raced wide throughout. MISTER LARRABEE – extremely slow to leave the barriers and raced wide throughout. ATTACKABEEL – fractious prior to the start and reared in the barriers, Apprentice Brooke Johnson pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 3 more than permitted. Jockey Johnson was fined the sum of $200.00. Race 4: VITRINITE BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1000M GOLDEN EIGHTY – began awkwardly raced wide throughout and shifted in under pressure in the home straight. CHATILLY – slow to begin and raced wide throughout. KOSCINA – failed to show any early speed and raced wide throughout. Race 5: OAKA CONSTRUCTIONS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000M FLAMING ASTEROID – fractious prior to the start and raced wide throughout. KINGMATE – raced unruly in the early stages, trainer John Manzelmann was advised a warning was placed on KINGMATE for its racing manners. NOUVERRE FILLE – shifted out under pressure in the home straight. LONELY STREET – began awkwardly. MARSHY – raced wide throughout.
