QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT MORANBAH RACE CLUB 23rd of March 2024 WEATHER – FINETRACK RATING – DIRTRAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Stewards – S Stehbens (Chair) & T HudsonGENERAL As apprentice L Overall was unavailable to attend the meeting due to illness, replacements were approved as per race day summary. Apprentice Overall was advised that he would require a medical prior to his next engagements. Stewards allowed jockey E Bell to ride DIASONIC +1.5kg over its allotted weight in race 5 as there was no other available rider. Race 1: HAHNLEC INNOVATIVE ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1550M HOLLYWOOD PARK – Apprentice S McCann advised that she lost her whip at the start of the home straight and that her mount failed to handle the conditions of the track. Trainer G Bell concurred with apprentice McCann’s statement and advised she will report back to stewards on the condition of HOLLYWOOD PARK if anything becomes apparent in the days subsequent.FLYING ARION – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Jockey D Graham was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip 7 times prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted. I SAY BOOM – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. BULLOCK ISLAND – Slow to begin. Race 2: MORANBAH COMMUNITY WORKERS CLUB QTIS RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 Handicap 1170M STILL FEELING IT – Jockey E Bell reported that near the 800m she became concerned with her mounts action after it put in a number of awkward strides and dropped back quickly through the field. Jockey Bell added that due to this she refused to place her mount under any more pressure and eased it out of the race as she was under the impression that something may have gone amiss with STILL FEELING IT. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer G Bell stated that STILL FEELING IT may not have handled the track conditions today but undertook to report back to the stewards on the conditions of STILL FEELING IT in the coming days. FARMER’S FRIEND – Fractious in the barriers. Slow into stride. Race 3: VITRINITE BRIGHTER COAL MAIDEN PLATE - 1170M JUKEBOX DANCER – After the disappointing performance, trainer G Bell advised that JUKEBOX DANCER would now be retired. VANCOUVER LIGHTS – Jockey R Faehr was advised that he needed to take further care and ride his mount out fully. RIVERVIEW RED – Jockey M McDonald plead guilty to a charge of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 12 times prior to the 100m, 7 more than permitted and his license was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence on midnight 1st April 2024 and to expire on midnight 9th April 2024. Jockey McDonald was advised of his rights to an appeal. Race 4: MEU MORANBAH BM45 HCP - 1000M IAMRUSTYPARKER – Knuckled at the start and as a result was slow into stride. FRONZEN PRINCE – Began awkwardly. MISHANI STAR – Slow to begin and attempted to buck shortly after the start. After considering the evidence tendered by apprentice S. McCann stewards issued a warning on the record of the filly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Race 5: OAKA CONSTRUCTIONS OPEN Handicap 1000M The start was delayed approximately 5 minutes when LIFETIME QUEST had to be resaddled at the barriers. ANCIENT ECHOES – Jockey R Faehr advised that after beginning poorly and being placed in the kickback, his mount failed to travel at any stage of the event and went to the line in a disappointing manner.
